House with terrace Méaudre (38)

Elaborated down to the smallest detail, this magnificent contemporary house of 2019 located in the town of Méaudre will enchant you with its universe and its services. Taking up some traditional elements of mountain architecture (such as the steeply sloping slate roof and the wood through its mezzanine, its magnificent barn-style oak tiercé door, its sliding interior doors and its solid parquet floor) and marrying it with the he industrial aesthetics of cast iron elements from the beginning of the 19th century, it perfectly combines authenticity, uniqueness and modernity. Composed of a large open room organized around its spiral staircase and its wood stove, it offers, on the ground floor, a minimalist kitchen and a grandiose living space with its cathedral volume. Open on all four sides, the large bay windows with brick partitions and the many anthracite frames, always placed with care, provide incredible light and offer as many different views of the surrounding landscape. Also present on this level, separated by movable wooden panels or workshop type joinery, an office/bedroom, a magnificent bathroom with toilet and a storeroom. The first floor includes a sleeping area, an office area and a small reading room. Completely open to the lower level, it is very easily partitionable and two bedrooms and a bathroom could easily be created. The good-sized garden, a true extension of the living space, complements it admirably. Nicely laid out with its small terrace, its stone paths and its greenhouse reminiscent of carpentry, without any real delimitation, it gives the place freedom and tranquility. With its noble materials, its refined style and its marked aesthetic choices, the owner has created a unique property delivering serenity and well-being. Open to nature, elegant, offering a generous volume, this timeless house is one of the places to live without a doubt. Property tax: EUR1,108 ENERGY CLASS: B / CLIMATE CLASS: A. House with terrace Pont-en-Royans (38)

In the heart of the village, Château Prunier proudly dominates and overlooks the surrounding Vercors. A high place steeped in history, it has preserved its character since feudal times, thanks to attentive owners, while offering a more comfortable contemporary life. Largely restored and maintained, it allows you to discover objects and paintings from recent centuries. Its entrance is already an invitation to delve into what Saint Andrew may have been a long time ago. Today, the building has 4 bedrooms, a chapel, a large and small living room, an old kitchen serving as a dining room, 2 separate bathrooms and toilets, its small chapel, cellar and attic overlooking the facade turret. Ideal for a family, or agree to welcome in an atypical place. An independent and adjoining barn of almost 100 m2 (on two levels) is an interesting addition. Lovers of beautiful homes and history will find the ideal place here. The small medieval village is however close to all amenities and 15 minutes from a motorway entrance.

House Saint-Marcellin (38)

On the foothills of the Chambarans, a few minutes from Saint-Marcellin, this old peasant building has been transformed over time. Originally a sheepfold, it was completely restored and redesigned in the 90s. Pierced by its impertinent glass roof, it has elegantly combined the authenticity of its stone walls, its wooden beams and its cabochon tiling with the modernity and subtlety of its glass structure, its transparent railings and its metal elements. Nestled in the heart of greenery, hidden from view behind its walls, it offers visitors who are lucky enough to cross its threshold an exceptional living environment. Passing through the wooden door of its enclosure, it is through the glass roof that we discover this exceptional property and enter its living room. This beautiful space, double height, framed by a pebble wall and with only the glass wall delimiting it on the garden side, allows us to see the landscape with the Vercors massifs in the background. Set back, under the mezzanine, we find the fitted kitchen with its utility room extending into it. Accessible directly from it, a high garage allows parking for two vehicles. In the central part of the house, we discover a first bedroom with bathroom and toilet and continuing on, opening onto a small wooden terrace, a second suite also including its own bathroom with toilet. Also present on this level are separate toilets. The first level, organized around its remarkable fireplace, consists of a spacious mezzanine overlooking the living room and a generous and bright office/library space. A third attic bedroom with again a bathroom and toilet is present. To enhance the whole, at the back of the house, overlooking the outside and communicating with the upstairs, a heated indoor swimming pool completes the property. The exteriors of the property, spread over 7,500 sqm, offer a unique panorama in every way. From the entrance, a real link between the different spaces, a path alternating between deactivated concrete and wood allows you to stroll along the facades. A beautiful overhanging terrace located between large trees, a pool fed by a private source, a sheltered platform with its barbecue, a bread oven, a pétanque court, are all places and atmospheres present on the site. An outbuilding of approximately 58 sqm and the agricultural land below complete the property. In a dominant position, in a green and intimate setting, with sumptuous views on both sides, this old sheepfold revamped in a loft style will inevitably satisfy anyone looking for a habitat with character and a bucolic living environment. To acquire without moderation. Contact: Patrick Lavandier - 06 10 56 55 90 Independent sales agent RSAC Grenoble 521 324 152 Property tax: EUR1,347 ENERGY CLASS: C / CLIMATE CLASS: A. Castle Grenoble (38)

An 11th century castle, its guest houses and outbuildings on a 45-ha, unspoilt, natural estate in the midst of the Trièves region. Once a stronghold house, this property includes a castle, spanning approx. 900 m² of living space, three independent, converted guest houses, spanning between 120 and 200 m² of living space, an interior, cobblestoned courtyard, numerous outbuildings, a 12x6 m swimming pool, an exercise and sauna room, a spa, a French formal garden and a vegetable garden, all in an excellent state of repair. Although the exact date the stronghold house was constructed is unknown, everything points to that fact that it was sometime around the year 1000, that is to say the early Middle-Ages. Around 1450, King Charles VII, alarmed by the plotting of his older son, the future King Louis XI, simply gave him the province of Dauphiné to govern as he saw fit under the name of Louis XI. The latter was to live there for ten years and became very popular in the Trièves region, where the stronghold house became his favourite hunting lodge and took pride in his royal visits. Up until the end of the Middle-Ages, Montmeilleur belonged to the Bérenger-de-Morges family. Their coat-of-arms is still to be found today on the entrance gateway and the monumental fireplace in the large reception room. Following a succession of leading citizens, including the Marquis-de-Langon, Montmeilleur was destroyed at the time of the French Revolution, archives were lost and the castle fell into ruin. Sold in 1841 to Constantin-Abrard, Montmeilleur remained for more than a century in the hands of this same family, descending directly through the female line and including the Thibaud-Gibbs family who undertook major renovation works around 1875. This tradition came to a halt when the son of Madame-Thibaud sold the property in 1957. In one of his imaginary constructions, “A King Alone”, a Provencal, complex novel that takes place between Lalley and Chichilianne, Jean-Giono greatly enhances his memories of Montmeilleur, where he stayed numerous times, by taking inspiration from the personality of Madame-Thibaud.
