A fully renovated, 17th century, traditional Bastide house, with 1,100 m² of living space and 26 ha of land, in Lubéron Regional Nature Park.
This traditional Bastide house, with origins dating back to the 17th century, is set in Lubéron Regional Nature Park, just 20 minutes from Apt, 50 km from the motorway, 60 km from a TGV train station and 800 m from a medieval village with all shops. Facing south with a 180° view over the Greater Lubéron mountain range, it stands in the midst of 7 ha of lavender fields, 3 ha of meadows and 16 ha of woods.
This property is accessed from the village via a little secondary road which crosses a stream via an exceptional Romanesque bridge, prior to making its way towards three old properties, spaced a long way from one another. A gateway with old stone pillars stands on a hillside, less than a kilometre from the village. It opens, on one side, on to a lane bordered by a low stone wall, supporting a flower garden and, on the other, on to a small lake, beyond which lavender plants stretch for as far as the eye can see. Accessed via a turnaround, this traditional Bastide property extends an invitation to pass through its impressive carriage gateway which reveals five fully renovated buildings. The main, U-shaped house is accompanied by a guest house, a springhouse, a shepherd’s cottage and an outbuilding, where the sound of the cicada and that of the spring rule. A pool closes the square of the main house which, therefore, forms an atrium overlooking the main, south-facing swimming pool and its pool-house. The village nestles at the foot of the mountains in the distance. Three wood cabins, two of which are perched on stilts amongst the trees, as well as another two swimming pools, each bordered by its own terrace, complete the north side of the property. The entire estate is surrounded by meadows and copses.
The large, luxurious homeIts south-facing facade looks out over the Lubéron mountain range. A carriage gateway opens into a vast courtyard, enhanced with an old, pool, spanning approx. 36 m², which is fed by a spring.
Ground floor
A fully glazed veranda adjoins a kitchen, spanning approx. 45 m², and its back kitchen, the latter two being vaulted. This area opens on to a large lounge-dining room which is also vaulted. A small, predominantly glazed lounge, set at right angles, looks out over a south-facing, inner courtyard. In this room, a spring spurts from the outcropping rock. A few steps, at the end of the lounge, go down to a semi-professional wine cellar. This area for wine enthusiasts cleverly communicates with a large, vaulted room, spanning approx. 100 m², laid out as a library and featuring retaining, pointed, stone pillars. This living room opens on to the outside and communicates with a large lounge which is part of the adjoining and north-facing building known as the springhouse.
First floor
This level is reached via a 17th century, stone stairway. A door on a mezzanine opens into a billiard room, laid out in the springhouse. The first floor comprises a bedroom, two studies, a shower room and two toilets. All of the very bright rooms on this floor look out over the distant Lubéron mountain range.
Second floor
This level, currently unused, awaits full conversion works. It could be transformed into three more bedrooms with a mezzanine lounge in the small square tower. The guest houseThis L-shaped building stands facing the lounge in the springhouse. One section of the “L” covers the carriage doors and the other is laid out the direction of the pool.
Garden level
This level is taken up by rooms used for workshop and storage purposes. It was, no doubt, once an old stable and a woodshed. It is possible to envisage rehabilitation works …
