Castle Nantes (44)
This castle par excellence, perfectly preserved and restored, listed historical monument, located 10 minutes from the city of Nantes, is qualified as the first castle of the Loire. This rare pearl of the French heritage has remained for more than a thousand years in the same family and now seeks a successor interested in the conservation of the place. It was built at the end of the 15th century and enlarged in the 17th century. Built on the ruins of a medieval castle, the castle presents now the symbols of the Gothism and the Renaissance with an elaborate decor. Large reception rooms and lounges decorated with tapestries, parquet floors, decorated fireplaces and box ceilings, contribute to the inner wealth of the building. The whole is surrounded by moats in water. The property covers approximately 6.5 hectares. It leaves then place to the vineyards of Nantes.
