  • Rooms 4
  • Bedrooms 2
  • Land 1 683 m2

Between the Beauce and Sologne regions, not far from Chambord, an old farm fully restored by an architect.
This house, just 2 hours from Paris, is in the area around the Loire chateaux, between the Beauce and Sologne regions. The historic town of Blois, with its 45,000 inhabitants, is but 25 minutes away by car. It has numerous infrastructures and amenities. Its train station provides 95-minute links to Paris and 35-minute links to Tours. The nearest town, with its local shops and amenities, can be reached in 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bike.
This old farm is part of a small hamlet, set in tranquil, natural surroundings, in an area classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO courtesy of the wealth of different lands, the natural landscapes and the monuments to be found there.
This property is part of a hamlet, composed of four houses and crossed by a little country lane. The fully enclosed garden, spanning approx. 1,600 m², has few plants and is but waiting to be landscaped. A double garage is detached from the main building. The house, with a floor surface area of approx. 200 m², is laid out over several levels.
The houseThis house, once a farmhouse, is constructed from white quarry stone blocks, with dressed limestone quoins. Laid out in an L-shape and spanning a floor surface area of approx. 200 m², its various levels are topped with a slate roof. It was most certainly constructed before the 18th century and could even date from the 16th century.
A vaulted, exposed stone cellar with a packed mud floor is illuminated via a basement window.
Ground floor
The ground floor comprises a living room, a single open-plan room that includes a lounge area with a fireplace, a dining area as well as a kitchen. The latter is a mixture of modernity and rusticity, exuding a restful, comfortable atmosphere. The perfectly restored, exposed beams bear witness to the great age of the building. A little stairway goes up from the living room to a bedroom, with parquet flooring, and its shower room, with a toilet. Between the living room and a summer lounge, a corridor leads to a functional laundry room and a toilet. The summer lounge opens directly on to a terrace and the garden via a wide picture window. It features a very high ceiling, revealing an exposed roofing framework, with trusses, that is both light and impressive. A wood and white metal stairway provides access to the house’s attic space.
The attic space has been completely rehabilitated. It can be reached via a stairway from the summer lounge. Looking down on the latter, the mezzanine is currently in use as study and library areas. It communicates with the bedroom, a vast room, with a 6 m high ceiling, featuring the exposed roofing framework. With parquet flooring, this room is very bright courtesy of its various windows, its brilliant white walls enhancing a high truss with a double tie beam. A few steps provide access to a bath-shower room with a toilet. Residents of this room, with its resolutely sober and modern lines, can appreciate a view over the surrounding countryside.
It would be possible to convert this large bedroom and create one or two additional rooms.
