A narrow tarmacked road reaches a hamlet on the top of a hill, where sheep farmers lived, before becoming a footpath to a stream on a lower level. This property, extending over the east slope of the hill, is at the beginning of said footpath. The long farm buildings, with gable roofs of varying gradients, face south. The outbuildings surround an open, grassy courtyard, where a tree takes pride of place. Following the lie of the land, the house is extended by a vast barn which precedes an old cowshed and a little house, the interior of which awaits renovation. The exteriors, including their roofs, have been authentically restored with great attention paid to the last detail.
The houseThe character of this house comes from the subtle combination of authenticity with modernity. During the renovation works, numerous original architectural features were preserved. Packed mud floors, dry stone fireplaces and a stone sink are all reminders of the premises’ original rusticity. Modern-day home comforts have not, however, been forgotten as is shown by the fully fitted kitchen and the electric heating as well as the recent electric wiring and bathroom and toilet facilities.
Ground floor
The entrance door opens directly into a through living room, where its fireplace, its floor and its walls act as decoration. On the left-hand side, a separate, fitted kitchen features a wide stone fireplace, old wooden flooring and a door to a barn. On the other side of the lounge are a toilet and a bedroom, adjoining a private shower room with a toilet.
First floor
A landing at the top of the stairway provides access to two vast bedrooms, with sloping ceilings, and a toilet.The outbuildings
A cellar, with a packed mud floor, under the kitchen is reached via an outside door.
A door communicating with the kitchen makes it possible to envisage extending the living space. This 10.8x6.7 m barn has an additional mezzanine section above an old cowshed.
This little, square house, measuring 5.8x5.5 m, awaits full internal restoration works. It includes a fireplace and a cellar, spanning the same surface area, reached via a trapdoor. It would be possible to create an upstairs.
Garden shed
This completely separate outbuilding was once used for preparing pig fodder. A well is incorporated in the masonry.
Between the house and the garden shed is a covered area where a bench has been added.
This old, fully restored barn is now used for garage, workshop and storage purposes.
Chicken coop
A small, independent, 5 m² construction standing in the middle of the courtyard is used as a henhouse with a roof and a perch.
