Manor Tours (37)
A restored 16th-century mansion with over seven hectares of grounds, nestled in France’s River Loir valley and listed as a historical monument. A quiet country lane leads through meadows and farmland on a plateau. From this lane, a driveway lined with North American oaks leads up to the seigneurial mansion. A car park lies next to an entrance to a vast courtyard. You cross a bridge over a water-filled moat on the south side. The mansion stands straight ahead. All the buildings are arranged around the courtyard. A tree-dotted garden lies on the east side, behind a high stone wall yet within the moat’s enclosure. In the north-west corner of the moat-enclosed complex, another bridge stretches across the moat. From this spot, you can gaze out at meadows where majestic trees tower. A small wood also lies in the property’s north-west corner, beside its boundaries. Meadows evenly spread around the moat-formed island cover an area of around six hectares. The estate dates back to the 14th century, when the land was part of the nearby fiefdom of La Mothe d’Olbeau. Over the centuries, several families followed one after another on this estate that forms a self-sufficient home. The dwelling was probably built in the 15th century, then extended and redesigned between the late 16th century and the early 17th century to create, above all, its staircase tower and central pavilion. All the fireplaces inside date back to this period and were doubtless crafted by a specialist stone cutter. In the 18th century, the rear eastern pavilion with large windows, a section slightly lower in height, was added to the edifice and the south-east-facing facade was transformed to harmonise the whole mansion’s appearance. In the 16th century, a range of fortifications were made, including the surrounding wall, the moat with its bridges, a fortified tower, and more than twenty arrow slits. At the start of the 20th century, the estate covered around 150 hectares that included smallholdings and a mill.

House with pool and terrace Tours (37)
At the gates of Tours, in a sought-after and peaceful residential area, lies this rare character property in the region, consisting of a 18th or early 19th century mansion, as well as older outbuildings, historically linked to vineyard culture and its 'noble joué', evidenced by the old press still present and the remarkable cellar, set in a wooded park of over 7000m2. The main building, approximately 210m2, is arranged over two levels. The ground floor opens onto a majestic entrance, revealing the central solid wood staircase, the heart of the house, as well as on either side, the bright living room, and dining room, each embodying the architectural codes of the manor house: bourgeois moldings, light parquet floors, and beautiful marble stone fireplaces. These living spaces, with their through layout, invite you to enjoy the idyllic wooded park. The independent, recently fitted and equipped kitchen is an extension of the dining room and benefits from a functional utility room. The first floor opens onto two beautiful bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a final bedroom, currently used as an office, and its storage room. A first sleeping area with high-quality features, in line with the house's style. The second and top floor, under the roof, while offering a generous ceiling height thanks to the converted attic, is equipped with two large suites of over 20m2 each, as well as an independent full bathroom. The cellar, hidden in its park, is extraordinary: access is via about twenty steps in tuffeau stone, and it comprises a main nave with five lateral vaulted cellars on each side. Fully vaulted over 28 meters, inscriptions from the 16th century can be observed. Its wooded park extends to a pleasant swimming pool area, enhanced by a 15th century outbuilding of approximately 60m2, which could serve as a pool house during the summer, with its perfectly preserved bread oven, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a beautiful kitchen open to the living room. The sublime park, designed and maintained with passion by the owners, promises fabulous moments. A vegetable garden area offers a quality of life at the city's doorstep, with a pleasant view of a golf course. 8 minutes from the city center of Tours, 15 minutes from the TGV station. In the heart of a charming village in South Touraine and only 30 minutes from Tours stands an exceptional Belle Époque manor dating back to 1906. A true work of art, this asymmetrical building, typical of the Eclectic style, reveals nearly 700m² of living space on 2.5 hectares of parkland. This 25-meter high villa is one of the most beautiful Belle Époque villas in France. In 2019, it underwent a complete renovation that revealed its original character and elegance while integrating modern amenities. This restoration also highlighted the technical and artistic achievements characteristic of that era. Today, the villa offers a subtle blend of old-world charm and modern living, while preserving the integrity of its original architecture. A gem to see but also to live in, thanks to its nine bedrooms and as many private bathrooms worthy of the finest Parisian hotel suites. One of them features a spa area with a private hammam, balneotherapy, and traditional sauna. Additionally, it includes several Art Nouveau-style lounges, a sublime Renaissance-inspired dining room, an elegant office, and a green winter garden, offering generous and luxurious living space for its occupants. There is also a highly functional kitchen in the semi-basement with laundry facilities, a cinema room, a jacuzzi area, and a very large basement of over 120m², ideal for wine storage. Outbuildings with a barn, a workshop, and two 75m² accommodations in the former caretaker's house complete this property. The location in the heart of a park with orchards, vegetable garden, pond, and woodland adds a natural and peaceful dimension to the whole. The pond with its island and cyclamens scattered in the undergrowth create an enchanting and picturesque setting. This residence is a true treasure of French architectural heritage, combining history with modernity to offer an exceptional living experience. It is also environmentally friendly thanks to its pellet heating system, ensuring unexpected comfort without any hassle. This property is located 10 minutes from the A10 motorway, 35 minutes from the Tours TGV station, and 5 minutes from Ste Maure de Touraine, which offers a multitude of shops, schools, transportation, and other amenities. A former 'closerie' (small enclosed farmstead), its two dwellings and troglodyte cellars on the edge of Tours. At the foot of the Loire hillside, a driveway leads to the property. Next to the farmhouse, a wooden gate framed by stone pillars opens on to the driveway that crosses the garden to an outbuilding that has been converted into a garage. Directly opposite, the east-facing residence, built of tuffeau limestone with a slate roof, has two storeys and features a large terrace overlooking the garden. The garden is divided into two lawned areas, overlooked by a wooded area dotted with numerous troglodyte cellars. The two residential buildings and the garage, although architecturally distinct, are similar in many respects: rendered stone facades two storeys high, rectangular, evenly spaced windows and gable roofs laid with clay or slate tiles.
