A welcoming, middle-class home, in the centre of a wooded garden surrounded by old stone walls, near to La-Roche-Bernard.
This house is in a market town, with more than 5,000 inhabitants and all schools, half-way between Nantes and Vannes in the Regional Brière Nature Park. All local shops are within easy walking distance. Redon train station, 30 minutes away, has TGV train links with Paris. The Atlantic beaches are but 25 minutes away. La-Roche-Bernard, a starting point from which to explore the La-Vilaine river, is 10 minutes away.
This property, bordered by the road leading to the centre of the village, can be reached via vehicle and pedestrian gates. A rectangular house, it is set slightly back and surrounded on all sides by a wooded garden, enclosed by stone walls. A small, predominantly glazed outbuilding takes up one of the corners at the end of the garden. Two reception rooms, a kitchen, a bedroom and a study are laid out on the ground floor. Five bedrooms share the space on the first floor. The attic space is partially converted, and a cellar extends under half of the floor surface area of the house.
The houseThis house, composed of quarry stone blocks, spans two levels under attic space, topped with a half-hipped, gable slate roof. The facades feature five bays, the openings of which are all framed with dressed stone surrounds.
Ground floor
The main entrance, with its double doors, opens into a vestibule. The latter provides access to a vast wooden stairway, with balusters, as well as two reception rooms and a bedroom. On the other side, a hall area leads to a kitchen, a study, a shower room, a door giving access to a cellar and a door opening out into the garden. A lounge and a dining room intercommunicate with one another and with the vestibule via wide double doors. The floors are covered with strip pattern, oak wood parquet flooring, whilst the walls are embellished with wainscoting and marble fireplaces. The rooms are widely illuminated courtesy of their tall windows. A French window in the dining room makes it possible to reach the garden via a stone step.
First floor
The wide stairway goes up to a landing, providing access to a vast bedroom and its separate toilet, a stairway concealed by a door, leading to the attic space, and a corridor. The latter gives access to four bedrooms, three of which have a separate toilet, as well as to a bathroom and a toilet. All the floors are laid with strip pattern parquet flooring. The wide windows can be blacked out by indoor wooden shutters. Wainscoting and fireplaces are present once again.
The attic space is taken up by three bedrooms, two of which have their own bathrooms, as well as a separate toilet. Two attics could still be converted. The garden and the outbuildingThis completely enclosed, nuisance-free garden is laid out around the house. Tall trees provide welcome shade during the summer season. A small, stone and brick outbuilding, topped with a slate roof featuring upward-turning eaves, adjoins the walls in a corner. Its facades are completely glazed.
