Fifty kilometres from Paris, in a village in the Oise department, a family house dating from 1850 with outbuildings.
In the Hauts-de-France, between the French Vexin and Oise-Pays de France Regional Nature Parks, the region was first part of Gallia Belgica and then, after the death of Clovis, became part of the Kingdom of Paris. Until the 18th century, this vast territory was composed of several very different provinces. Its geographical, economic and cultural diversity still typifies the region today. The village, surrounded by fields and woodlands, offers a green and quiet environment. It is only 50 km from the heart of Paris via the A16/A15 motorways and 50 minutes by train. The historic town of Beauvais is about 30 km away and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport about 50 km. All amenities can be reached within a few minutes including a nursery school and a primary school.
The gate with its fence covered with Virginia creeper and wisteria opens onto the house and its outbuildings. The house stands out in the middle of the greenery. The outbuilding, formerly the barn of this mid-19th century farmhouse, houses a garage, workshops, the former stable and various sheds. Brick hutches and two pigsties were built at the bottom of the garden in the 1850's. The second part of the bucolic garden, with a little shed resembling a workshop, sits on a higher level. The house with its light-coloured façade has a surface area of approx. 330 m² and is built on three levels. Once through the entrance, there is a large reception room next to the kitchen, a living room, a study, a library, and several bedrooms are situated on the first floor. The main outbuilding lies opposite the house. It has exactly the same number of square metres and could be converted.
The houseBeyond the garden, the entrance features an original cement tile floor and serves several rooms on the ground floor. A staircase with a wrought iron railing leads up to the upper floors, which house five bedrooms and a shower room. A second bathroom could easily be created in one of the rooms awaiting conversion on the top floor. All the door and window frames are new. First a farmhouse, then a factory, between street and garden, the house has been transformed over the years to become the residence it is today.
Ground floor
A room with a made to measure bookcase in light oak and a toilet with a hand basin. There follow in a row a study with a fireplace featuring a black and white marble mantelpiece and a living room with a fireplace. The floors are either parquet or stone paved. A large and bright U-shaped kitchen opens onto the garden. Its floor combines parquet and cement tiles, the latter being identical to those in the entrance hall. A second living room - or future dining room - with a height of over 6 m under the apex, has an industrial spirit that illustrates the purpose of the place when the farm was transformed into a small factory in the middle of the 19th century. This room is notable for its exposed beams and its high wall partly in stone drawing the eye to the mezzanine. The latter can be reached either via a period spiral staircase or via the bedroom floor. The room and the mezzanine still need to be decorated and furnished.
First floor
The wooden staircase leads to a landing serving the bedrooms. The first room overlooks both the street and the garden and has a fireplace. There follow three bedrooms in a row, each with a fireplace. A shower room and a toilet with hand basin complete this level. Each of the bedrooms can be reached via a corridor leading to the mezzanine. It offers a view down to the ground floor reception room, which can be reached via the spiral staircase.
Second floor
The staircase leads up to the exposed roof structure. This is an extensive space in which a large, fully insulated room has …
