  • Surface 400 m2
  • Rooms 20
  • Bedrooms 7
  • Land 4 045 m2

An elegant, 20th century residence, with 4,000 m² of grounds, in Normandy, near to Rouen and 130 km from Paris.
Rouen, a historic town, is but 16 km away via the port area.
The nearest food shops, including restaurants, as well as doctors and chemists are 2 km away. The Albâtre coast, its cliffs and its beaches are 65 km away. There is also a forest near to this property.
The road from Rouen goes through the port area and past several small villages along the right bank of the river Seine for 16 km. This busy port, the 6th largest in France, makes for quite a sight. The countryside by the river exudes a certain harmony up as far as the village where this property stands. A little picturesque village, with 210 inhabitants is set between the river Seine and the forest. Its architectural and environmental heritage is but an invitation to take a stroll. A little road gently winds its way up to tall entrance gates. A 180 m long, quarry stone block wall, featuring a “wall-walk”, encloses this property on four sides.
A travertine stone terrace borders the residence’s main facade.
Its facilities include outbuildings, a garden shed, a henhouse and a semi-underground barbecue area.
Miscellaneous species including rose bushes as well as magnolia and plum trees, have been planted throughout the grounds.
The residenceThis building could be classified as one of the latest generation of chateaux.
Adjoining the cliff, it spans 400 m² of living space spread out over four levels, including a fully converted basement floor.
Its beige rendered facades, enhanced with toothed stone quoins, are flanked by two hexagonal turrets, with pointed roofs. All the roofs, featuring hipped roof dormers on either side, are covered with tiles.
The forty-six openings are arched. On the second floor, a curved balcony, with belly balusters, is topped with a triangular pediment, adorned with a bull’s eye window, featuring a central sundial. This balcony is supported on four Tuscan order columns on stylobates which rest on the porch, with its double landing and several stone steps leading to the inside.
A south-facing terrace, with a barbecue, extends one of the reception rooms.
Ground floor
The vast hall is a worthy setting for the monumental stairway, its steps paved with imitation marble and its wrought iron railings topped with a brass handrail.
This level comprises a large kitchen, a study that could become a ground floor bedroom, a lift, a toilet and an immense lounge-dining room, enhanced with a large fireplace. The floors are covered with sandstone tiles, featuring inlaid decoration, or with imitation marble tiles.
First floor
The layout of the rooms on this level is identical to that on the ground floor. A balcony corridor leads to four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two separate toilets, a room used for sewing and ironing as well as the foot of the stairs going up to the second floor. The floors are covered with oak wood parquet flooring.
Second floor
A large room, with walls and ceiling adorned with varnished panelling, two bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom, both with toilets, take up this level in the attic space.
A machine room houses the centralised vacuum system, the lift machinery as well as the Wi-Fi and television dispatcher.
Floors are covered with fir wood parquet flooring.
This level is divided into two sections. One comprises a fully tiled, 2-car garage, a boiler room, a wine cellar under the rock, a vaulted cellar and a workshop. The other has a reception room, with an open-plan kitchen and a fireplace, a dressing room, a shower room and a toilet, all reached via a corridor. The outbuildingsThe outbuildings include a garden shed, a henhouse and a kitchen-barbecue area with a terrace.
