An 18th century manor and a 19th century house, amidst pleasant countryside, in the centre of a rural market town, 130 km from Paris.
The French capital can be reached in 1½ hours by road or rail. The train station is in a medium-sized town, with all amenities, 19 km away. Beauvais, with its airport and its international flights, are some 40 km away. The white cliffs of the Albâtre Coast are but an hour’s drive. The region, bordering the Bray Country, is just as attractive, with its lush countryside providing unobstructed views over the irregular-shaped fields separated by hedges and ditches. This property stands in the midst of a village with more than 2,000 inhabitants.
Just a stone’s throw from the village square, this property can be accessed via two separate entrances. A red brick house stands on the side of the road. Behind it, a manor house is set in the middle of the grounds. Both are separate from the outbuildings and await full restoration works.
The manor houseThis building, vestige of a family past, constructed in the 19th century, awaits full restoration works. It offers interesting dimensions, with its four bedrooms, two lounges, a kitchen and attic space.
The facades, covered with white rendering and featuring numerous openings, are topped with a Mansard slate roof and its five triangular pediment roof dormers. The exposed roofing framework on the third floor is in a good state of repair with an appreciably high ridge. A semi-circular tower, topped with a candlesnuffer roof, adjoins a gable wall.
Redesigning works at the rear of the building would provide an exit to the garden and the outbuildings, without having to go around the building, once the land registry has been updated.
Once converted, the top floor will make a significant addition to the current surface area.
Ground floor
The entrance hall, paved with cement tiles, provides access, on one side, to a kitchen and a back kitchen, with access to a small cellar. Two adjoining reception rooms, on the other side, feature walls lined with coffered wainscoting and fireplaces with marble mantels. The floors are covered with parquet flooring, laid in herringbone and strip patterns.
First floor
This level has parquet flooring throughout.
This top floor spans a spacious area, with an outstanding, exposed roofing framework and pitch-pine parquet flooring. The houseThis house was built using brick in the 20th century. The slate roof, like that of the manor house, reflects the Mansard style.
The main entrance is on the street. The basement can be reached from inside the house.
Ten rooms, awaiting a new layout, stand over a large basement comprising six rooms (workshops and cellars).
Ground floor
This level was intended for commercial purposes and comprises several offices, including one vast living room transformed into three offices. The floors are covered with tiles or parquet flooring.
First floor
The floors are covered with parquet flooring or carpet.
This level is taken up by six rooms, used for workshop and cellar purposes. The outbuildingsThese are laid out behind the small manor house.
