In Mézy-sur-Seine, in the Vexin Regional Natural Park, 45 minutes from Paris, an 1880 family home, its outbuilding, Napoleon III style greenhouse and landscaped garden.
In the centre of the small town of Mézy-sur-Seine, the property is situated in a quiet and secluded location. The main house has a floor area of 270 m² and comprises on the ground floor (with a ceiling height of 3.50 metres) an entrance hall, a large U-shaped living room of 107 m² and a 26m² south-facing dining kitchen. On the first floor there are five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cloakroom and toilets. The second floor offers a bedroom and two large attic rooms, which can be converted. In the basement, a wine cellar.
The adjoining building is in excellent structural condition and offers four beautiful rooms, formerly workshops and stables. It could easily be converted into an independent office or a home. The houses sit in a beautifully composed extensive 2100 m² garden boasting paved terraces, a pond, an arbour covered path, flower beds, a driveway lined with lime trees, an orchard and a hen house. And finally, there is an old greenhouse of eleven by three metres, in good condition. There is parking space for several cars.
The property is close to many schools, both public and private, and only a 15-minute walk from the Meulan Hardricourt train station. Services to Saint Lazare take 50 minutes, to La Défense 45 minutes. The A13 and A14 motorways provide access to Paris in 45 minutes. As for leisure activities, golf, rowing, sailing, flying, tennis or horse-riding lovers will find all the facilities nearby. The Vexin Regional Natural Park is known for its rich natural and rural heritage.
A family property full of potential Dating back to the 1880s, the two houses seem to have been part of a large neighbouring Napoleonic estate. They retain some of its features: saddlery, stalls, brick vaults. More recently, the premises have been transformed into a comfortable family home, with an annexe and a park serving as showcase. Two gates provide separate access to each of the houses and allow them to be used independently. The main houseWith its millstone base, half-timbered walls, balcony and hipped roof, its style harmoniously blends regional aspects of Ile-de-France architecture with Alsace-Norman tones. A white wisteria enhances the juncture between the two levels.
Ground floor
The former tack room now serves as entrance hall. It has kept its saddle racks and woodwork bearing the initials of Alfred Lasson, former head of Protocol for the Presidency of the French Republic in the 1920s. The floor is paved with old cobble stones. To the right, a glass door opens into the dining room; to the left, another glass door gives access to the living room. These two rooms, each measuring 48 m², are symmetrically arranged on either side of the entrance and are connected by a room used as an office. Each room features a fireplace, one in marble, the other in wood. Their 3.50 metre high ceilings are made of brick vaults; the wooden floor consists of light oak ladder parquet. Both rooms have double glass doors opening onto the paved terrace in front of the house. Off the dining room is the south-facing kitchen. On both sides, plenty of sunlight pours in through large picture windows, while the cathedral ceiling offers generous volumes. A farmhouse door leads to the paved terrace which runs along the side the house.
First floor
A central corridor leads to the rooms on this level. The five bedrooms, one of which has a balcony, are all on the garden side. They have comfortable volumes and benefit from soft daylight. A cloakroom, a toilet and two bath or shower rooms round off this floor.
Second floor
Today, this level comprises a bedroom and two …
