House Tours (37)

In the heart of a charming village in South Touraine and only 30 minutes from Tours stands an exceptional Belle Époque manor dating back to 1906. A true work of art, this asymmetrical building, typical of the Eclectic style, reveals nearly 700m² of living space on 2.5 hectares of parkland. This 25-meter high villa is one of the most beautiful Belle Époque villas in France. In 2019, it underwent a complete renovation that revealed its original character and elegance while integrating modern amenities. This restoration also highlighted the technical and artistic achievements characteristic of that era. Today, the villa offers a subtle blend of old-world charm and modern living, while preserving the integrity of its original architecture. A gem to see but also to live in, thanks to its nine bedrooms and as many private bathrooms worthy of the finest Parisian hotel suites. One of them features a spa area with a private hammam, balneotherapy, and traditional sauna. Additionally, it includes several Art Nouveau-style lounges, a sublime Renaissance-inspired dining room, an elegant office, and a green winter garden, offering generous and luxurious living space for its occupants. There is also a highly functional kitchen in the semi-basement with laundry facilities, a cinema room, a jacuzzi area, and a very large basement of over 120m², ideal for wine storage. Outbuildings with a barn, a workshop, and two 75m² accommodations in the former caretaker's house complete this property. The location in the heart of a park with orchards, vegetable garden, pond, and woodland adds a natural and peaceful dimension to the whole. The pond with its island and cyclamens scattered in the undergrowth create an enchanting and picturesque setting. This residence is a true treasure of French architectural heritage, combining history with modernity to offer an exceptional living experience. It is also environmentally friendly thanks to its pellet heating system, ensuring unexpected comfort without any hassle. This property is located 10 minutes from the A10 motorway, 35 minutes from the Tours TGV station, and 5 minutes from Ste Maure de Touraine, which offers a multitude of shops, schools, transportation, and other amenities. Ref.4221 : Chateau for sale in the Loire Valley The château was built in a small village in central France, at the bottom of a valley and beside a stream. Ideally located centrally in the Loire Valley, a 5 minute drive from a main Autoroute junction and local amenities yet enjoying a secluded quiet location. The city of Tours and its international airport is 40km away. This beautiful château, set in 17 acres of wooded parkland, was built in the 15th century on the foundations of a 13th-century fortress. It underwent a complete restoration in 2017 to become a 1307 sqm 4-star luxury hotel with 23 bedrooms, a semi-gastronomic restaurant, reception rooms, spa and wellness areas as well as seminar and meeting rooms. The ground floor of the château: entrance hall, lobby with reception, toilets and lift to the upper floors, restaurant, professional kitchens, wine cellar, technical rooms and storerooms. An impressive staircase leads from the bar/lounge to the upper floors with a lift. A second fire/staff staircase also serves all floors. The semi-gastronomic restaurant, inaugurated in 2017, is housed in a superb veranda added to the château's façade in 2016. Views over the park, rose gardens and river valley provide a soothing setting in which to relax and enjoy your meal. Rooms range from 'Classique' to 'Suites' with intermediate 'Charme' rooms, with nightly rates varying accordingly. First floor: bar and lounge, exhibition/concert room and a guest room with en-suite bathroom. Second floor: 9 bedrooms with private bathrooms and views of the park. Third floor: 8 further guest rooms with en suite bathrooms and views of the park. Fourth floor: A large double bedroom and en-suite bathroom in the tower. Fifth floor: management offices. Basement: storage area, lift access and machinery, boiler/heating system and 2 wine cellars/storage rooms. Three additional guest rooms with PRM access are located on the ground floor of this building, with the possibility of a further 6 rooms on the first floor (to be created) with established staircases leading to the entrance hall. The original chapel, which has not been restored but is in relatively good condition, is located next to the château and offers opportunities for additional activities (weddings, etc.). The 'gate house', 138m² on 2 floors (lounge, kitchen and toilet on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms and shower room on the first floor), currently used by the site's caretaker and located near the main gate, provides an additional level of security to the site. In the lower pasture there is a large stable block with 12 stalls, office, tack room and feed shop. In addition, there are covered garages, workshops and various shops (including a bike shed) on site. With a little over 17 acres of formal park and woodland, bordered by a stream this chateau enjoys a quiet and private setting. With a recent previous link to the equestrian world there are lower and upper paddocks offering grazing and stabling for a number of horses (another business opportunity to be explored perhaps) along with paths and hacks through the woodland and access to local further reaching paths. The views from the restaurant fall over the gardens and rose maze. The 10x5m swimming pool and surrounding sun terrace are sheltered behind the wellbeing lodge and also enjoy views over the river valley. House Tours (37)

A former 'closerie' (small enclosed farmstead), its two dwellings and troglodyte cellars on the edge of Tours. At the foot of the Loire hillside, a driveway leads to the property. Next to the farmhouse, a wooden gate framed by stone pillars opens on to the driveway that crosses the garden to an outbuilding that has been converted into a garage. Directly opposite, the east-facing residence, built of tuffeau limestone with a slate roof, has two storeys and features a large terrace overlooking the garden. The garden is divided into two lawned areas, overlooked by a wooded area dotted with numerous troglodyte cellars. The two residential buildings and the garage, although architecturally distinct, are similar in many respects: rendered stone facades two storeys high, rectangular, evenly spaced windows and gable roofs laid with clay or slate tiles.

A house and outbuildings set in a lush garden in the heart of a village near Tours. The property is situated at the foot of the church and the castle, in the heart of the village. An iron gate protects the property from prying eyes from the street and opens onto a garden planted with trees and a wooded area on the hillside, as well as cellars cut into the rock. A gravelled driveway leads to the main house and a large lawn next to the guest house opposite and the workshop after. The two rubble stone buildings with carved tuffeau stone surrounds are harmonised with each other in terms of their size, their gable roofs with Jacobean dormer windows, and their rendered facades covered in vegetation. To the rear of the main building, a gravel courtyard with flowers all around leads to a modest house. Finally, at the end of the garden, at the foot of the wooded hillside, a brick vault provides access to the cellars.

Manor Tours (37)

A restored 16th-century mansion with over seven hectares of grounds, nestled in France’s River Loir valley and listed as a historical monument. A quiet country lane leads through meadows and farmland on a plateau. From this lane, a driveway lined with North American oaks leads up to the seigneurial mansion. A car park lies next to an entrance to a vast courtyard. You cross a bridge over a water-filled moat on the south side. The mansion stands straight ahead. All the buildings are arranged around the courtyard. A tree-dotted garden lies on the east side, behind a high stone wall yet within the moat’s enclosure. In the north-west corner of the moat-enclosed complex, another bridge stretches across the moat. From this spot, you can gaze out at meadows where majestic trees tower. A small wood also lies in the property’s north-west corner, beside its boundaries. Meadows evenly spread around the moat-formed island cover an area of around six hectares. The estate dates back to the 14th century, when the land was part of the nearby fiefdom of La Mothe d’Olbeau. Over the centuries, several families followed one after another on this estate that forms a self-sufficient home. The dwelling was probably built in the 15th century, then extended and redesigned between the late 16th century and the early 17th century to create, above all, its staircase tower and central pavilion. All the fireplaces inside date back to this period and were doubtless crafted by a specialist stone cutter. In the 18th century, the rear eastern pavilion with large windows, a section slightly lower in height, was added to the edifice and the south-east-facing facade was transformed to harmonise the whole mansion’s appearance. In the 16th century, a range of fortifications were made, including the surrounding wall, the moat with its bridges, a fortified tower, and more than twenty arrow slits. At the start of the 20th century, the estate covered around 150 hectares that included smallholdings and a mill.
