Property Châtillon-Coligny (45)
Exceptional place located in a bucolic hamlet. Discreetly hidden behind a gate, this property offers a range of quite incredible possibilities. Two charming houses, each with a kitchen, living room, 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. Floor tiles, beams, fireplaces? A third house currently used for receptions but which could become another place to live. Finally, an old tithe barn with volumes and architecture full of history. We can perfectly imagine an artist's place, exhibitions or a place where several families can share their lives. A truly atypical property. I forgot to mention the tennis court, the river, the orchard...

Mill Châtillon-Coligny (45)
A restored presbytery, a mill, vestiges of a former fortress and converted outbuildings on grounds of nearly 9 hectares, located within an ecovillage. Upon exiting a village, the property is located at the end of a valley, surrounded by several illustrious estates, wooded parcels and pastures. Bordered by the Briare canal – 55 kilometres long – as well as inlets, outer walls and verdant hedges, the contiguous tree-filled property contains nearly 9 hectares. From the road, tall, automated gates open onto a drive that leads to the different buildings, which include a caretaker’s cottage near the entrance, a guesthouse, outbuildings and former stables, while behind the different buildings, gardens with water features provide a bucolic backdrop for the whole. The main dwelling, a former presbytery from the 17th century, stands on a verdant esplanade of approximately one hectare. Rectangular in shape and flanked by a cylindrical corner tower, it has two floors under an attic level. With approximately 300 m² of floor area, the main building is topped with a hipped Mansard roof, while the tower is crowned with a pepperpot turret, the two both covered in antique tiles. In addition, the building’s façades are clad in lime-pointed stone and punctuated with large-paned windows of different shapes and sizes, all safeguarded by louvred shutters, except for its bull’s-eye windows, while its window and door surrounds, excluding those for the gable and hipped dormer windows on the roof, are in brick. Lastly, cornices in ashlar stone for the tower and brick for the main building add the final touches to the façades. The property also includes a mill built in the 19th century and its outbuildings, which are located not far from the waterway that traverses the grounds. The Loing River, rich with abundant aquatic biodiversity, divides a vast pasture in two, while a small peninsula still conceals the vestiges of a former fortress with moats, an outer wall and towers built out of limestone, flint, rubble stone and ashlar stone, which date back to the 13th century.

Property Briare (45)
A grand dwelling with a guesthouse, a tennis court and two hectares of grounds with woods, nestled in a village on the River Loire in France’s Loiret department. The main building was once the hub of a cheese dairy, but it is now a grand dwelling. It was built in 1907. A guesthouse and outbuildings stand on the grounds too. The property lies on the edge of the village. It stands out for its grand appearance and tall form. Indeed, you can see it from far away. Two entrances lead into the property: one via woods and another, the main one, from the road. An electric double gate, framed between two pillars of stone and brick, leads onto a driveway where vehicles can be parked. Two guard stones on either side of the entrance were once used to tie horse-drawn carriages parked here. The house’s four elevations are punctuated with many windows, heralding a bright interior. The stone and brickwork of the quoins bring out the pale rendering of the walls. Brick and stone also form the window surrounds. The entrance door faces tall age-old linden trees. Another door leads out into a small court near a well. A stone stringcourse runs along the facade. Chimney stacks of local brick and stone rise up from the hipped slate roof that crowns the house. A gabled dormer stands on the roof. The facade features an elegant plaque set with Briare enamel. It reminds us of the property’s origins. In the enclosed grounds, centuries-old trees surround the house and fragrant flowerbeds embellish the vast outdoor space. In front of the guesthouse, there is a teak-wood terrace where a few ceramic pots stand and, nearby, a tennis court in good condition. A little further on, a stone well stands among the outbuildings. A second gate that is smaller than the main one stands by an orchard, a greenhouse and a few outhouses, including the former cheese dairy. Beyond, a wood of conifers completes the grounds.

House Briare (45)
A barge designed by the famous architect Jean Nouvel in 1991, moored in a marina in Burgundy, less than 2 hours from Paris. Built in 1930, the barge was lived in for decades. Then, much later, in the 1990s, Renault bought it. The company's plan was to bring famous clients together here and organise seminars away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. At the time, the barge was located near the TF1 studios on the Quai du Point du Jour in Paris. In 1991, the Chairman of Renault called on the architect Jean Nouvel, one of the main organisers of the international design competition for Les Halles de Paris. He headed the Association pour la mutation de l'Île Seguin in 2001, which opposed the demolition of the Renault factory. Jean Nouvel has designed major buildings both in France and abroad, including the Arab World Institute, the Cartier Foundation, the Quai Branly Museum in 2006, the Qatar National Museum in Doha and the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. In 1984, Jack Lang also asked him to assist Carlos Ott, the architect of the Bastille opera house. Moored along a tree-lined quay, the barge is an impressive size and is built to the Freycinet gauge. With its black and yellow colour, it is easy to spot from a distance. The wooden deck from which you can admire the calm surrounding area has railings with a little gate. Metal frames above the deck are used to hoist a tarpaulin that extends the full length of the deck in winter. A large metal tank has also been installed near the entrance, and the barge has a regulation removable footbridge. Numerous windows line the boat, some with ornate metal railings. The outside space is large, thanks in particular to the presence of a vast terrace, to the rear of which is the helm.

Farmhouse Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye (89)
An authentic country house with a lush garden boasting a variety of plants and trees, 2 hours from Paris, in Burgundy, in the Yonne area. A small road that winds through the slightly undulating countryside as far as the eye can see leads to the hamlet made up of stone houses and former farmyard buildings. At the end of the road, there is a former wash house surrounded by meadows. High stone walls lined with honeysuckle and vines, a reminder of the region’s origins, flank the house. There are two entrances to the property: the first is through a white fence leading to a patio sheltered by large trees, while the second is through a small white door that leads directly into the garden. Instead of a doorbell, there is a bell fixed high up on the wall, adding character to the dwelling. Japanese paving leads up to the entrance door through a lush, green lawn. There is also a barn next to this north-south facing three-storey house with a gabled roof made of Burgundy flat tiles. Purple wisteria adorns the limewash rendered façades of the buildings, including the one to the rear of the house facing north, from which a dry-stone wall extends, enclosing a patio with wooden decking, recently installed for use during the summer.

Castle Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye (89)
A historic pleasure palace from the Second Empire surrounded by a 40-hectare estate with 27 hectares of woods and an immense pond near the birthplace of the famous French author Colette. After having passed through several villages typical of the region, a small country road leads to the property’s two entrances: the first is indicated by a small gate and a former caretaker’s lodge, while the second, much more impressive, is marked by two large spiked wrought-iron double gates supported by four brick and stone pillars, while original guard stones run alongside the low briquette walls, which support the finely-crafted fence. The latter entrance faces a majestic pond thanks to the beauty of its banks and resident swans, a chivalric and romantic symbol if ever there was one. A little further on, a small drive provides access to a third wrought-iron gate, which opens onto a track that climbs upwards towards the property. Large oaks line the drive that leisurely passes by the outbuildings, followed by the fields where horses can be seen frolicking. A large semi-circular courtyard, where orange and palm trees stand side by side with Medici vases, faces the chateau overlooking its grounds, while a staircase in front of the chateau leads to a former orchard, decorated with an original stone fountain adorned by two cherubs. Lastly, hidden within the grounds’ vegetation is a caretaker’s cottage, located near an enclosed farmyard surrounded by outbuildings, in the centre of which is an ancient brick footbath for horses.
