Near Dinan, a 17th and 18th century manor, a guest house and outbuildings on more than two hectares.
In the heart of the pastureland of the Côtes d’Armor in northern Brittany, the property is close to a hamlet overlooking the Jugon-Les-Lacs valley. The area is popular for its water sports and outdoor activities, easily accessed by car or bicycle. The little historic town has all the local shops. The nearest TGV station, which connects Paris in two and a half hours, is twenty minutes away. Rennes International Airport can be reached by road in an hour, the Côtes d’Emeraude or Penthièvre coasts in half an hour.
Undulating, wooded countryside surrounds the manor. From the road meandering through fields and meadows, a long tree-lined driveway leads to a gate. It opens onto a vast rectangular park surrounded by walls and planted with fruit trees. Near the manor house, a door opens onto a small square courtyard bordered by the bakery on one side and a dwelling currently undergoing renovation on the other. At the rear of the manor, the vast lawn borders the sunniest side and a large outbuilding at right angles.
The manor houseBuilt in 1627 of granite and dressed stone under a slate gable roof, it was remodelled and enlarged in the 18th century. The facade of the main courtyard is striking. The original manor house was enlarged by a wing and an extension. A lodge has been added in the corner. The roofs of the extensions are four-sloped. Their height is accentuated by sculpted finials and a slope which flattens towards the gutters. The lintels of the doors and windows are mostly arched. At the back, the facade is straight. The original manor house can be distinguished from the second building as the latter is slightly set back. Three spans of high rectangular windows illuminate the rooms. The entrance door is placed between two of the windows. All are topped with triangular pediments. The main building is of a simpler construction. Two large windows provide light on the ground floor and skylights on the second floor.
Ground floor
The manor has several entrances. They lead straight to the connected reception rooms. A large living room features a fireplace fitted with a wood-burning stove, exposed beams, terracotta floor tiles, elaborate woodwork and imposing wooden doors. Every detail has been meticulously restored. Another living room, offering a light tiled floor and a granite fireplace, also with an insert, leads to a sports room to one side and the dining room to the other. This dining room features wood cladding, with the exception of a small section of exposed stone wall facing the monumental crest engraved granite fireplace. A door leads into a large kitchen with central island and dining area. In both rooms, large windows open directly onto the garden and allow plenty of light to enter. A third, longer drawing room serves as a library and billiard room.
First floor
The hallway serves four bedrooms and their shower room or bathroom with toilets, a closet and a study. The two larger bedrooms have a fireplace and one of the bathrooms boasts a steam room. On this floor, sobriety reigns. A large number of windows fill the rooms with natural light.
Attic
The attic has four large bedrooms. It also offers a bathroom and a shower room. This floor is lit by dormer windows or skylights opening onto the garden or park. The large outbuildingThis long building consists of a workshop and an attic with potential for conversion. The adjoining guest house comprises a large living room with a fitted and equipped kitchen, a lounge, a shower room with toilet and three bedrooms on the first floor. The floors are paved with large grey tiles on the ground floor. The rooms are all very bright and the layout is functional. …
