São João da Pesqueira (Portugal)
Domain of 21 ha, with house, cellar and wine storehouse.
The vines are situated around the house and the cellar, on the slopes of the valleys that border them and at an altitude of 300/400 metres.
They benefit from an essentially schistose soil, which allows permeability and a certain retention of humidity. The vines also benefit from excellent sunshine, which varies according to the orientation of the slopes, from sunrise to sunset.
The surface area of the vineyard includes 15 ha of "new" terraced vineyards and 3.8 ha in traditional planting, all of which is worked entirely by hand.
In the "new" vineyard we have the following grape varieties: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela and Sousão for the red wines.
An enormous diversity of native varieties is also cultivated in the old vineyard, which are over 80 years old, and which constitute an added value as they give the blends a wonderful complexity of aromas.
For white wines, we find the following native varieties: Fernão Pires, Cerceal, Rabigato, Malvasia Fina, Gouveio, Sirie, Códega and also Códega de Larinho.
- Cellar, winery and fully equipped laboratory for wine production.
We also have on the property an annual production of about 1.800 litres of olive oil.
