Built in 1911 as a residence for a noble Milanese family, Villa Luminosa sits on the west shore of Lake Como. From its ideal position, one can enjoy a beautiful panorama of Bellagio, the pre-Alps to the north, and Nesso to the south, with an idyllic view of the Sisinnio church dominating the skyline.
A charming path, said to have been constructed during Roman days, leads from the villa to the town and lake below. The town of Argegno is located over 900 feet above sea level in the sunny inlet on the western shore of Lake Como. The ancient town centre, picturesquely juxtaposed against the lake and mountainous background, features a large number of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and pubs. The on-site concierge can assist guests in arranging local activities. There are also ample sources of relaxation and entertainment within the estate: for instance, the gorgeous swimming pool, decorated with an antique statue, the sundeck with lounge chairs and parasols for relaxing outside, and the outdoor dining area to enjoy an aperitif or dining al fresco. Guests can also relax in the mini spa with chromo therapy shower and aroma-therapy tub.
The property underwent a full restoration 2012. While preserving original details and materials, such as marble and terracotta floors, doors, ironworks and decorations dating back to 1911, the villa also provides modern luxuries like a full home entertainment system with satellite TV, a movie and music library, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Antique furniture, paintings and statues create a refined atmosphere, while the skylight above the living area allows natural light to enter, creating a warm environment.
The villa can accommodate up to eleven adults (and two infants), featuring six luxurious and tastefully decorated bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TV, and a private terrace. Two bedrooms feature twin beds that can be converted into king beds, two bedrooms feature king beds, one bedroom features a queen bed, and one single bedroom. The villa also features a gorgeous dining room with a terracotta dining table and stylish leather dining chairs, spacious, beautifully decorated sitting areas, a library, a fully-equipped kitchen, and wine storage.
