It was fully functional until 1997 collecting olives from the villagers of Vorno and pressing some of Lucca's best olive oil. The manicured grounds of the estate are surrounded by terraced olive groves with valley views across the swimming pool to the medieval towers of Lucca. The villa, close to the city of Lucca, is also a short distance to the city of Pisa, with its famous tower; the splendid beaches and world-class shopping at Forte Dei Marmi; and the Renaissance masterpieces in the heart of Florence, only 30 miles from the estate.
