Landes, A designer house in the Landes forest

Landes

This amazing house was built by Catherine and Jean- François Bats in 1988, in an 11,000 sq m park, planted with pine trees and hundred-year old oak trees in the Landes forest. With strong references to the industrial architecture, the property offers 450 sq m of living space. A huge terrace leads to the entrance, opening on an impressive living room, a reception area and a library. A fully equipped kitchen and a living room are on the same floor. All these rooms are articulated around a fantastic indoor swimming pool. The back of the house is dedicated to the four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a study, whereas the first floor features a fitness room and a sauna. “It really is an amazing property, stresses the Ateliers, Lofts & Associés Biarritz agency, quite unlike the kind of half-timber houses you would expect to find in the area. Its dark, sober, stylish and rather industrial façade, set in the midst of lush greenery, is a must-see.” Sheltered from view, the house is only five minutes away from the Atlantic seafront and its multitude of sand dunes. The nearby village of Messanges features a shopping district, a cycle track, a footpath and a golf course. As for Hossegor and Biarritz, they’re a fifteen- and fortyminute drive away, respectively. Proposed price: 1 575 000 euros
