Provence, An 18th century country house

Provence

A very peaceful atmosphere

This unusual 18th century property, surrounded by vineyards, is located halfway between Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape and faces Mount Ventoux and the famous Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range. Built in 1766 and owned by the Ribeire family ever since, the house has three levels, providing 300 sq m of living space on each. On the ground floor, a splendid hall leads to various reception areas, including a living room with a wood fireplace, a library, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The latter opens on a magnificent terrace. There is also a study, a laundry room and a cellar. A stone staircase leads to the first floor, with five large bedrooms and four bathrooms. The second floor, formerly used by the staff, features six more bedrooms, two shower rooms and two bathrooms. Says Lord & Sons agency: “This is a place steeped in history, with great volumes set in an exceptional environment.” The 9.4- acre estate (with an extra 12 available for purchase on the property adjacent) also features a gatehouse - complete with living room, veranda, kitchen and bedroom - and a dedicated chapel. The fantastic outdoor swimming pool has dramatic view of renowned mount Ventoux. Last but not least, the domain has its own lake, with an island at its center and a bridge leading to it. Stone ponds with fountains, 100-year-old oak and plane trees as well as cedars from Lebanon are also part of the property. Proposed price: 2,98 million euros
