Under Parisian skies

Under Parisian skies

Gaëtan de Capèle, deputy director of the Le Figaro editorial department

All the greatest travellers will tell you: of all the places they have visited in the world, Paris will always occupy a special place in their heart. Oh, to stroll each morning along the misty banks of the Seine, amble in the Marais or Montmartre, or meander through the sun-dappled streets of Saint-Sulpice and Saint Germain-des-Prés! Not to mention the majesty and charm of the Eiffel Tower, the graceful ballets at the Opéra Garnier, those moments of sublime awe under the vaults of Notre-Dame! No wonder that deep inside, they cherish such a particular affection for the city that gave them so much. Still dazzled by the light and full of nostalgia, they all dream of returning one day. Perhaps even to scout out a pied-à-terre… and why not settle in the city? Paris offers myriad reasons to succumb to this sweet temptation. As the capital of culture, gastronomy and luxury – in a word the epitome of French lifestyle, it provides a unique and precious backdrop. But even beyond its beauty, its economic dynamism will be a perfect match for the most energetic amongst them who are seeking to develop their network and their business.

For those who love Paris, the most difficult task will no doubt be choosing amongst the thousand jewelled niches in the City of Light. Deciding, according to their tastes and their budget, between the charm of a two-room loft, the comfort of a fine Haussmannian apartment or the classy elegance of a town house. But one thing is sure, at the end of the day, every one of them will echo Jules Renard’s impassioned observation: ‘Paris! Add a mere three letters and you have paradise!”
