This castle was built in the 13th century and is referred to in Pope Alexander IV's bull of 1258. In 1500, Labarde became the property of the d'Aspremont family, barons of Roquecor. In the 17th century, the seigneury of Labarde became a barony, giving it the right to administer justice. In the 17th century, the castle was modified to suit the tastes of the time. This medieval castle was listed as a historic monument in 1971. The castle was occupied by a number of different owners and gradually fell into disrepair. A couple restored it to its original glory.
