Yves Saint Laurent's secret garden

Located in rue de Babylone, on the left bank, this unique duplex set at the heart of a 400-sq m garden planted with hundred-year-old trees, was the historic mansion of famed fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. Facing south with an open outlook, the 520-sq m apartment, where numerous celebrities from the political, show business and fashion world gathered, provides an exceptional environment in one of Paris’ most prestigious districts. A 70-sq m library with large bay windows and a Point de Hongrie parquet floor, a hall, a Master suite, and two fully equipped kitchens round out the amenities on the ground floor. Upstairs, a 70-sq m stateroom with a 3.80-m clearance overlooks the garden. A lofty mirror, hung on top of the fireplace, and large 1940s wooden panels, bring warmth and splendour to the room. A dining room, a music room, a Master suite and three bedrooms set a refined and unobtrusive atmosphere. “This type of properties is very rare,” stresses Emile Garcin. A beautiful 70-sq m keeper’s apartment and another bedroom, both located on the fifth floor, as well as two parking spaces, are also part of the sale. Proposed price: 18 900 000 euros
