From every window and terrace there are fabulous views down the winding banks of the Dordogne and over the medieval village of La Roque Gageac, voted "one of the prettiest villages of France".

The castle is a family residence, and combines modern comfort with the charm of antique furniture making it a wonderful place to stay. After you step through the gateway a private alley will lead you to the main courtyard of the castle.
On the ground floor is a 100m² living room and a sitting room which open onto a large terrace, a vast dining room with an extendable table and a newly-installed and well-equipped kitchen.
At first floor are 6 large bedrooms with exceptional views over the Dordogne valley.
The large stone staircase serves the second floor where are another 3 large bedrooms and a smaller one. The views become even more beautiful as you get higher!
Hanging onto the cliffside, the swimming pool which is 12mx6m offers a great exposition to fully enjoy the long summer days and benefits from the same panoramic vista over the Dordogne river.
There are two hectares of lovely grounds including woods, a park and gardens of 1000sqm.
The belvedere above the swimming pool and the Dordogne river below, the playground on a lower level, the rose garden around the pool, the hundred year old trees which surround the chateau…. All make for ideal spots for walks and relaxing, and give the feeling of space and the sensation of grandeur .

VIRTUAL VISIT POSSIBLE - ON REQUEST - This wonderful château is situated near Lalinde, right in the heart of the Dordogne within 100 hectares of its own private grounds. The château’s foundations date back to the 13th century and possibly even earlier. In the 15th century its military architecture was restructured due to changes in weaponry. In the 18th and 19th centuries serious alteration work transformed it into what it is today. The chateau has been in the same family since 1734. This is an ideally located spot for exploring all of the Dordogne tourist sites. Surrounded by lovely wooded fields the chateau has lovely gardens with a beautiful cedar tree, reputed to be one of the 200 most remarkable trees in France. A private enclosed and gated swimming pool (12x6m) with alarms has stunning views over the surrounding countryside. The accommodation (300m2) which occupies the central and eastern wings of the chateau has recently been refurbished and elegantly furnished, sleeping a maximum of 10 people and comprising: - The main entrance hall of the chateau (20m2) leading to the grand staircase and the first floor bedrooms. - Two separate salons (20m2) furnished with antiques. - The main dining room of the chateau (30m2) which was the guardroom of the castle is vaulted with open fireplace and large dining room table and small sitting area at one end. - A salon with an open fireplace and satellite TV. - A newly refurbished large fitted kitchen (20m2) and utility room. - A shower room with WC which leads out to the swimming pool area . 5 BEDROOMS - bedroom 1 (35m2) with a double bed (1.8m), with an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, a double basin and wc. - bedroom 2 (35m2) with two single beds (90cms) which can be put together with an ensuite showerroom with basin and WC. - bedroom 3 (35m2) with two single beds which cannot be put together with a washbasin and another intercommunicating door to bedroom 4. - bedroom 4 (22 m2) with two single beds which can be put together as a double bed with an ensuite bathroom. - bedroom 5 with a double bed with a washbasin, a separate WC + a separated bathroom which serves both bedrooms 3 and 5.
