Up came Parihoa Farm in New Zealand, for sale through New Zealand Sotheby's International Realty, with what I now call the 'House of Parihoa' as the centrepiece. As it did then, and now in 2024, this iconic house, created by New Zealand architect Andrew Patterson, still blows me away. I am selling it as part of my transition and will miss it tremendously. Available on its own, surrounded by 25.7 acres of land, or as part of the separate Parihoa Farm listing (which includes Tabletop Farm, House of Parihoa and Tirikohua Point Farm). The black fortress of the House of Parihoa sticks to the land like an alien spaceship that has landed. It is unbelievable from all angles, primarily since it is not domesticated with gardens or structures. It is often surrounded by sheep that stray from our neighbouring Tabletop Farm. Completed in 2008, the House of Parihoa has four large bedrooms with ocean views, two with en-suites and two share a Juliet bathroom. The summer living room is 'wow' and captures the ocean and sunsets in full glory. It has a winter living room with peaceful farm views. The centre courtyard has a pool and spa, protected from the elements. In 2022, we added the Jewel Box. It is the size of seven car spaces and has been a space for music, fitness and creativity amongst my friends. The Jewel Box has heated floors, electric blinds, an incredible sound system, and wine cellar with space for 500 bottles underneath. If more space was needed, a wellbeing pavilion could be added in the top corner of the 25.7 acres of the property. Planting would ensure access to the neighbouring Tabletop Farm does not infringe on your privacy if it was sold separately. Alternatively, buy this farm too! Tabletop Farm is Parihoa Farm's most significant piece of land. 549 acres and used jointly for events and farming. The events focused on weddings, commercials and product placement. However, until I sell Tabletop Farm, we will use it commercially only for wellbeing-related activities. It was always my vision of how I wanted the farm to be used. Under our Farm Manager, farming continues with 600 sheep and 100 cattle. There are two signature house sites on Tabletop Farm that could be chosen for the farm's new-age homestead. My favourite is the incredible 2050 site, 3km from either neighbour's home. This isolated location has astonishing ocean views and takes in the endless vista of Muriwai Beach. Over the years, I created two concepts for this site - a flying saucer bachelor pad in 2018 by Andrew Patterson and, more recently, something more conventional (but still out there) by Fearon Hay. The farm has a fully operational woolshed used by the farmer for shearing. The potential of Tabletop Farm is hard to fathom. It is such a large tract of land on the coast and so incredibly breathtaking with its topography of wetlands, valleys and plateaus. I have walked every square metre over the years, and it is the ultimate sanctuary.
