Property Mareuil en Périgord (24)
In the heart of the Périgord Vert region, in the bocage countryside of Mareuil-en-Périgord, the Château de Beaulieu, a listed historical monument, sits in a protected environment, just minutes from shops and services. Its grounds of approximately 7.5 hectares combine parkland, meadows, and woods, creating a setting of great serenity. Built in the 18th century and flanked by two 15th-century medieval towers, the château is laid out in an elegant U-shape. A majestic avenue of century-old chestnut trees leads to the main courtyard, enclosed by a wrought-iron gate. At the rear, a stone basin extends the view over the park before opening onto the meadows and woods. The main building, constructed of limestone and covered with a slate roof in excellent condition, offers approximately 900 square meters of living space, all of which require complete renovation. A grand staircase sets the tone upon entering. The vast reception rooms flow seamlessly into one another, enhanced by remarkable French-style ceilings, while the upper floor reveals exceptional volumes with ceilings reaching 4.5 meters high. The dressed stone fireplaces, the former service areas converted into living spaces in the two wings, the chapel, and the attic with its remarkable timber frame all testify to the architectural quality of this residence. Now stripped bare, the building rests on a sound structure and a roof in excellent condition, ready to accommodate an exceptional renovation project, whether for a private residence or a commercial activity. Rare in its history, architecture, and setting, the Château de Beaulieu appeals to heritage enthusiasts wishing to restore this exceptional residence to its former glory.
