Nestled in a meticulously restored 1913 building in downtown Warsaw, this stunning art-deco apartment offers a luxurious blend of historical elegance and contemporary craftsmanship. Spanning two combined units, this home has been passionately curated to reflect the grandeur of the 1920s and 1930s, a period that celebrated the likes of Coco Chanel and Tamara de Lempicka.
Enter through a bespoke wrought iron portal into a spacious main hall, leading to various beautifully appointed rooms, each echoing the art-deco theme with modern twists. The living area boasts 3.75-meter high ceilings adorned with corner plaster decorations, meticulously sourced by the owners to honor the pre-war aesthetic. The centerpiece of the living room is an inverted chandelier inspired by the iconic Chrysler Building, creating a dramatic focal point above the custom-designed three-meter dining table with its pine legs painted black to match the elegant decor.
The kitchen combines functionality with art-deco style, featuring high cabinets and an island designed and crafted by Kamila Gutowska, presenting a modern interpretation of the period’s luxury. The built-in large display cabinet, mistaken by many for an original, adds a touch of historical authenticity.
The master bedroom, managed by the lady of the house, offers a softer, more feminine touch with palm-leaf curtains and a half-sectioned Chinese screen reminiscent of one owned by Coco Chanel, providing an intimate and luxurious sleeping environment.
