House Budești (Romania)

The guesthouse, part of the Sunrai Village concept, is located on a relief with gentle slopes, covered with dwarf and dense or tall and straight greenery; a few hay stacks here and there and a wooden fence typical of the area will not let you forget that you are in Maramureș. The white, tall and proud building doesn't hide either - it has a stone foundation and a weather-resistant wooden shingle roof. The welcoming porch and the curly curtains on the windows invite the traveler inside where hot food and strong local brandy awaits - the restaurant, bar and kitchen are perfectly equipped for individual tourism, team buildings or private events.
There are 8 rooms in the main building, a traditional cottage that sleeps 6 people and another cottage for 3 people. Those staying at this premium guesthouse have a swimming pool, gazebo, jacuzzi, saltwater hot tub, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for alfresco dining. Add a children's playground built by locals and impeccably maintained green spaces - old trees and lush shrubs. The campfire, the kneading of cakes and bread complete the possibilities of spending free time at the guesthouse, but the larger area is also extremely attractive for tourists - from here, visits to the village with a horse-drawn cart and to the workshops of folk craftsmen are organized - wood carving, opinci traditional leather shoes manufacturing, weaving and other local traditions.
The village of Budești is generous to tourists with its share of carved gates and an old church, but its neighbor Breb, located 4 km away, surpasses it - it is more famous for its gates, its hardworking people and its church built in 1622 (with a tower from 1531). Extending the range, from Soare-n Maramureș you can visit the whole of Maramureș, climb the Gutâi mountains up to the Cocoșului Ridge, but also off-road at the Borcuț spring, a carbonated, bicarbonate, calcium, sulphurous natural and medicinal mineral water.
