This old plain castle was first mentioned in 1156. It lost its towers and fortress attributes in 1453. Today, the “Château d'Ell” is a superb charming residence with ±560sqm of living space and ±1858sqm of useful space, surrounded by a sumptuous park of 2.07 ha on the banks of the Attert. The property is in a good general condition and leaves a lot of room for imagination, e.g. under the beautiful roof of the main house but also in the annexes.
Situated at the entrance to the village of Ell, this beautiful property is rather discreet, reminiscent of a farm and slightly set back from the road (which is not a main thoroughfare and is no longer heard once inside the courtyard). The enclosure, which is not completely closed off to the rear, overlooks a beautiful park bordered to the south by the course of the Attert, a small river which flows into the Alzette at Colmar-Berg.
