Palm Jebel Ali is an artificial palm-shaped island still under construction at the southern end of Dubai City, at the port of Jebel Ali and its free zone.This man-made archipelago in Dubai is part of Nakheel Properties' Palm Islands project, which includes Palm Jumeirah and the Dubai Islands. Palm Jumeirah is already a thriving waterfront neighborhood with exclusive restaurants, beaches, luxury homes, and leisure attractions. While the Dubai Islands, formerly known as the Deira Islands, are a set of four islands currently under development. Construction of Palm Jebel Ali was halted in 2009, but is now resuming with an improved development plan. Once completed, Palm Jebel Ali will be twice the size of Palm Jumeirah and in the future will become home to six marinas, four amusement parks, as well as of course numerous luxury houses and villas built on the fronds, in the same way as those found on Palm Jumeirah.
