A confession of 1523 by Loys Aymar de Sazilly to the Lord of Ile-Bouchard mentions a fortified castle whose construction could date back to the 12th century. The present dwelling dates in part from the 15th century; it is flanked on the east by a polygonal staircase tower whose door was remodelled in the 16th century. A second stairway leads to the basement which contains a succession of cellars and vaulted masonry passages. On its north side, the dwelling has an open gable. The slate roof ends on the south side with a hipped roof. The adjoining south pavilion has a single square floor. It has a slate roof and also ends in a hipped roof. To the south-west of the park, a circular dovecote of plastered rubble has around 2,000 ashlar bolts separated by a floor at mid-height, covered by a flat tile roof.
