House Noyon (60)
A 17th century townhouse opposite Noyon cathedral, 1 hour 30 minutes from Paris. Situated directly opposite the cathedral, this townhouse enjoys a radiant view of its Gothic facade, built with particularly luminous yellow-ivory limestone. Its tri-partite portal and two spires with three tall, pointed arches lend the building its full magnificence. Only the parvis separates the impressive edifice from the property, which is in line with the 17th-century canons' houses. While the canons had lived on the site since the Middle Ages, a fire destroyed the medieval quarter in the 17th century, which was then rebuilt in a classical style. Today, this is a listed historic site. At first glance, it is the rounded shape of the square that catches the eye, with the canons' houses surrounding the cathedral facade. The majestic appearance of the property is enhanced by the two entrance pillars topped by monumental stylised flame-vase finials. Once through the tall gateway, a courtyard of old cobblestones leads to the townhouse, which stands between courtyard and garden following the traditional layout. On the other side of the building, a paved terrace guarded by a wrought-iron balustrade overlooks a walled garden planted with fruit trees. The style of the townhouse is typical of homes of this era, featuring a tall silhouette, large openings arranged in bays, a deep-pitched roof clad with flat tiles, solid gables and a basement with a perron. The residence embodies the spirit of the 17th century, even though it was extended in the 19th century by a second building. This annexe is roofed in the Mansard style, built of jointed stone and brick, and has two wings with roof terraces, one of which is protected by a balustrade. The main courtyard, surrounded by flowerbeds and paved with old mossy cobblestones, leads straight to the stone approach stairs.

House Saint-Quentin (02)
A monumental art deco church listed as a historical monument, in France’s Picardy region, two hours from Paris. In the aftermath of the First World War, the clergy found the local church too cramped to host all the district’s churchgoers and too badly damaged by the war to be used. So they decided to build a new church. This project was mainly funded by war compensation for other religious buildings. For the new church, the clergy called upon the architect Narcisse Laurent, who handed over his monumental work in 1937. The decision was made to build the church on a vast plot of land. A military aerial view taken in November 1918 shows that this plot of land was in the heart of a fighting zone beside a German trench at the gates of the town. At the time, the public saw a powerful symbol in this new construction: a church built on a war trench to heal the wounds of a tragic conflict.

Farmhouse Saint-Quentin (02)
An 18th century former abbey farmhouse set in more than 4 5 hectares in the Thiérache region. The farm estate belonged to the Prémontré Abbey from the 12th century. Destroyed by fire in 1731, it was rebuilt between 1740 and 1780. After leaving the main road, a tarred track of about 1.5 km leads to the entrance of the property. A driveway framed by wooden fences delimiting the pastures leads first to the caretaker’s lodge on the left and then up to the farmhouse. The complex forms an enclosed courtyard accessed via a dovecote-porch set in a building with a barn at right angles facing the sheepfold and the stables. The main residence is situated at the bottom of the courtyard, surrounded by outbuildings used as workshop, garage, boiler room and sports room. A small sand arena is located in the centre of the courtyard, a second one, measuring 40 x 20 metres, can be found at the rear of the barn. The pastures extend over a little more than 4 hectares with a shelter for horses. One meadow has a pond of approx. 1,500 m² fed by a spring.
