House with terrace Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume (83)
Contemporary architecture, this white and geometric house of 114 m2 of living space benefits from its 108 m2 of terraces integrated into the architecture, on a fenced plot of 2,174 m2, in a residential area of the very pretty village of Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte -Baume, 30 minutes east of Aix-en-Provence.Born from a close collaboration between the work of the architect and the sketches of the passionate owners, this house is inspired by Californian and Greek architecture; it is made up of the juxtaposition of full volumes and empty volumes whose edges define the spaces of the terraces. The spacious living room is central and distributes the rest of the rooms fluidly for airy circulation. Noble materials such as walnut, Athens-colored polished concrete and Italian ceramics come as a common thread: in the living room, a walnut veneer wall panel behind the panoramic electric fireplace clad in polished concrete, then in the kitchen, combined with a Calacatta Oro effect ceramic worktop and wall panels, the brass sink and its taps. The kitchen, although open, has its own space and access to a terrace. The openings, in black Technal aluminum, are omnipresent and play with black Californian blinds for a contrast effect. The main one, with pocket partition, erases, once open, any limit between interior and exterior. Large Sardinian stone-effect sandstone slabs also cover the terrace for perfect homogeneity.A large bedroom opening onto a terrace, as well as a bathroom in emerald green marble ceramic complete the garden level. A polished concrete staircase leads upstairs where two bedrooms with storage space share a large terrace and its lovely view of Sainte-Baume and Mont Aurélien. The garden, with a pétanque court and badminton court to the West, awaits its final landscape to the South.Several parking spaces are possible.A sunny and comfortable sculpture in the heart of the Provençal countryside
