Manor Fougeres (35)

A 17th-century chateau listed as a historical monument with outhouses and over seven hectares of grounds, nestled between Rennes and Mont-Saint-Michel. Country lanes wind through farmland and woods to join a cul-de-sac that leads to the property. Beyond the entrance gate, a driveway leads to the chateau. A chapel stands beside this driveway. The chateau towers over a French formal garden. A pond lies on the far side of this garden. The chateau dates back to the 17th century. It has a basement, a semibasement, a raised ground floor, a first floor, a second floor and a third floor. The edifice is listed as a historical monument. It looks out at its grounds, which extend all the way around the chateau and cover more than seven hectares. The chateau’s elevations are made of dressed stone. The building is made up of three asymmetrical sections. It stands in front of a main courtyard. A monumental double flight of steps marks the central section. A bell-shaped slate roof caps this central section. This majestic roof is adorned with a bull’s-eye window and underlined with modillions. A double-level roof lantern crowns the bell-shaped roof. Square slate tiles cover the roof lantern’s lower level and scale-shaped slate tiles cover its upper level. The roof lantern culminates in a finial. The edifice’s two other sections have hipped slate roofs. These hipped roofs are steep-sloped and are also underlined with modillions. Pediments with mouldings cap the windows. A broken arched pediment with a bull’s-eye window in the middle crowns the main entrance door. The facade faces east. It is bathed in natural light as soon as the sun rises. The sun then illuminates the other elevations throughout the day. At the back, there is a rear court edged by a south wing, an annexe and an orangery. At a lower level, there is an orchard and a swimming pool with a pool house. Woods complete the property. They form an enclosure around some sides of the property, which covers over seven hectares in total.

Manor Avranches (50)

A 16th-century manor house set in 6 hectares of grounds in the south of the Cotentin peninsula. At the junction of a departmental road, a 900 m-long track leads to the driveway up to the manor house, which faces south. The first thing you see are two buildings. On one side there is an old bakery, and on the other, a larger building used as a warehouse for agricultural equipment. Further on you come to a chapel, dated 1712 according to an inscription on the pediment of its arched door. The driveway spans the moat surrounding the manor house, which is bordered at the back by a pond. The main facade is flanked at either end by two towers with narrow openings typical of 16th century fortified houses. The roof is made of slate. A second building from the same period is opposite it. Finally, a last building borders the pond: an old barn with a hayloft.

Castle Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët (50)

Ref.4049: 19th CENTURY CASTLE FOR SALE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE OF NORMANDY. This 19th century castle is located in the green and wooded bocage of the south of La Manche, 40 km from Mont-Saint-Michel. This area was the scene of fierce fighting in early August 1944. An American cemetery is located 25 km away. The property benefits from all the shops and services of the small town only 5 km away. The nearest motorway entrance is about 20 km away, and the railway station is about 30 km away, making it possible to reach Paris in 3 hours. The castle is built of local stone and plaster. Its 19th century architecture is well balanced, the pediments of the two main facades remind us of the classical buildings of the 18th century. The interiors are generously lit by large openings. The interior layout on 3 levels is well symmetrical. A warm and friendly 'family home' atmosphere emanates from all these rooms. On the ground floor: the large vestibule leads off to the right into a beautifully decorated lounge with a marble fireplace. Two double doors open onto the dining room, also with herringbone parquet flooring and a marble fireplace. To the left is a more classically decorated sitting room with a marble fireplace and parquet flooring. At the back of the house, the kitchen and the hall with the well-balanced wooden staircase leading to the first floor. On the first floor, a large landing, lit by natural light from the stairwell windows, distributes 4 beautiful bedrooms, each with a shower room, and a child's bedroom. Fireplaces adorn these rooms. The second floor has a symmetrical layout to that of the first floor. These rooms have been used as attics in recent years and are in need of renovation. This would make it possible to create up to 4 additional bedrooms. A small staircase leads to the attic. Full basement. The outbuildings are: A caretaker's house to be restored. An orangery. A large stone building which houses the stables with six boxes and the garages. Part of its roof was redone in 2000. An earthen outbuilding. The castle is situated in the middle of a park of about 12.36 acres. It is partly composed of lawns and meadows, a vegetable garden, all planted with beautiful monumental trees that give this place all its beauty. House with terrace Saint-Sulpice-la-Forêt (35)

From the end of the Middle Ages, numerous half-timbered houses were built in Brittany and particularly in the Rennais basin, where we discover these colorful buildings along the streets and alleys of the historic city center, as well as in its close countryside. As evidenced by this residence with its remarkable typically Breton architecture built in the 17th century, combining stone, half-timbered wood and cob. An old farm in the past, the medieval style house has survived the ages and retained its authenticity. The garden level opens onto an entrance, it leads to a living room decorated with pretty century-old beams and punctuated by an imposing stone fireplace with a contemporary wood stove, a centerpiece of the interior architecture, then a separate, friendly fitted and equipped kitchen equipped with a cooking range and giving access to the terrace. On the same level, a bedroom with a water point ensures the comfort of living on one level. Upstairs, a landing leads to two suites respectively composed of a bedroom and a bathroom, then two other bedrooms and a bathroom. On the second floor, we discover a convertible attic with exposed beams, potential additional space. The immediate environment promises beautiful walks in the forest and through the Breton countryside.
