Property Viforâta (Romania)

The development of the Viforâta village is closely linked to the construction of the Viforâta Monastery, 5 km North of Târgoviște City. According to official records, Voda Vlad V founded the monastery about 500 years ago (1530), and the process was repeated a century later by Matei Basarab. Over time, the small village established at the foot of the monastery, towards Târgoviște, developed the textile craft tradition, and started attracting a large number of high-profile members of the Romanian cultural scene with its undeniably picturesque qualities. The Dărăscu-Enigărescu Castle was built on top of a hill northwest of Târgoviște, and the access road to the Viforâta monastery was completed on the command of the Dărăscu family in 1910, 20 years after the construction began. With a blurred history, the property would escape nationalization, even though, at some point, it did serve as the headquarters of the local Agricultural Production Cooperative. Afterwards, between 1975 and 1977, it was owned by Octav Enigărescu. A man of vast culture, baritone, radio man, actor, music professor and director of the Bucharest Opera (1969-1971), Octav Enigărescu immediately appreciated the architectural qualities of the small castle. Based on a terraced structure, the construction has two levels, and a high basement that covers the entire footprint of the building. The focus of the residence is indisputably the shape of its central tower, reminiscent of the medieval keep typology, the circular shape of which also influences the structure of the rooms. The building was strengthened by the Enigărescu family, who took care of the maintenance of the castle and reinforced the structure with steel beams in 1988.

House Cornățelu (Romania)

The Cornățelu village has a long history, the first documentary attestation being, as remarked by I. C. Visarion, in 1497, so that in 1531 we can find it as an estate of Vintilă Cornățeanu and of his wife, Voica. In 1627 the property belonged to Socol Cornățeanu, Vintilă's great-grandson, who was married to Mihai Viteazul's illegitimate daughter, Marula. Next to the manor the Saint Nicholas church can be found, founded by Vintilă Cornățeanu and Voica, and in its courtyard a 3.10 m high and beautifully ornamented monumental stone cross, with an inscription dating back to 1645. The cross was created by Socol Cornățeanu in memory of his parents and his wife, Marula. Both the church of St. Nicholas and the stone cross are classified as class A historical monuments of national and universal importance. In Cornățelu, located 35 km away from Târgoviște, which was the ancient voivodeship capital of Wallachia, a tradition of almost four and a half centuries takes place- a large annual fair called Târgul Cornățel, mentioned in the writings of Pantazi Ghica and I. C. Visarion. The name Cornățel derives from the Cornățeni boyars, who occupied the high ranks- great dignitaries at the royal court in Târgoviște during the reigns of Matei Basarab, Vlad Țepeș and Mihai Viteazul. Four centuries after the attestation of Vintilă Cornățeanu as owner of the Cornățel estate, we find another owner of the estate, Dumitrescu, who built in 1933 the manor in our presentation. The manor’s domain, with a 3.67 ha area, borders to the east, on a length of over 300 m, with a lake that once cleaned, can offer a great advantage to the property. The mansion needs rehabilitation, as well as the numerous annexes, but bringing it back to its former glory can be a real landmark of the area. Its architectural beauty, generous and bright rooms and large terraces opening to the surrounding park can be enhanced for multiple purposes, as residential or commercial, and there is the possibility of expanding through new constructions on the land of the manor. The property deserves to be restored and be brought back to the importance it had 500 years ago, from the times of the boyar Vintilă and the mistress Voica Cornățeanu.

Villa with pool Bănești (Romania)

The road climbs the hill on a paved alley, flanked by conifers and acacias on the left and right. The placement of the building on a high plateau provides a wide, generous, unrestricted view of the valley. In the center, surrounded by trees, a charming little house appears, almost lost in a forest, like a modern iteration of Hansel and Gretel's story in butter, caramel, and chocolate colors. Traditional materials specific to the area - stone, brick, and tile - integrate it into the surroundings and protect it from the weather. The basement is dedicated to functional spaces - a garage for two cars, a laundry room, and a technical room. A generous main floor offers a fireplace in the lounge area and a separate dining room, along with a modern, furnished and equipped kitchen, an office, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a second kitchen that can eventually be converted into another room, as needed. Here we also have a huge terrace, where there is a grill and a stove to cover all culinary needs, as well as a balcony that surrounds the living room to provide broad access to the beautiful view and the fresh air of the area. The partially superimposed upper floor, open and airy thanks to the balcony-hall, provides three bedrooms and two bathrooms, each bedroom having its own balcony from which you can freely admire the superb surroundings. The house is designed, arranged, and maintained to offer all the comfort and facilities of a permanent residence or a vacation home, close enough to Bucharest for easy access but still in an area with clean air, privacy, plenty of greenery, and a view that recharges the soul. The pool, waterfall, fairytale view, beautifully landscaped mature garden are just a few of the elements that make this property one that can quickly become the family's favorite for short vacations, weekends, or even as a permanent residence. The Bănești commune is situated in the Doftana Valley, placing it in a dreamlike tourist and gastronomic terroir, with forests full of berries, wild mushrooms, challenging trails, and wonderful views. Here is also the monument of Aurel Vlaicu, erected in 1930, as well as the wooden church of the Holy Voivodes, dating back to 1760
