Castle Toulouse (31)
A listed medieval castle on the outskirts of a Lauragais village, surrounded by 12 hectares of woods and meadows. The impressive fortified building is surrounded by pastures and groves of trees, as well as landscaped parklands created at the end of the 19th century. A large driveway separates the estate from a local road, with outbuildings - a shed, workshop and caretaker's lodging - just a few metres away. To the west of the castle, there remain the converted servants quarters and working buildings, as well as a 17th century dovecote built on piers, situated on the southern slope of the plateau. Both stylistically and structurally, the castle, which should be described as a 'feudal fortified mansion', appears to date from the reign of Charles VIII or Louis XII, although it was built in 1539. It consists of an elongated rectangular main building with two parallel sets of rooms, more than 27m long and 18m wide. Each corner of the main building features round towers with an external diameter of around 7.5 m, enough to cover the facades. They have arrowslits on each level, facing the entrance door and the southern curtain wall. The roof of the central section is clad with flat tiles featuring square or rounded ends. Some of the tiles are fixed with nails. The roofs of the two front towers are clad exclusively with rounded tiles. The roof of the south-west tower has retained its sealed monk-and-nun tile ribs, while the south-east tower, whose timberwork and roof were restored in the early 20th century, now features a conical pepperpot roof. The walls, with their regularly dressed calcareous sandstone, have an average thickness of almost 1.5 metres. The castle was listed as a historic monument in 1972, with heritage protection afforded to its facades and its high hip roof, crowning an impressive loft.

Apartment Toulouse (31)
A sumptuous 183m² apartment on the noble floor of a Haussmannian-style edifice on a pedestrianised street in Toulouse. The majestic edifice looks down at a broad pedestrianised shopping street. It bears the main traits of sumptuous Haussmannian edifices from the 19th century: continuous balconies with wrought-iron balustrades decorated with acanthus foliage, bargeboards and stylised architectural articulation around the windows. Antique ornamentation also adorns the lavish facade, including a medallion and effigy above the entrance door, Corinthian pilasters, and atlantes supporting the corbels of the first balconies. The communal areas – an entrance hall, a stairwell and an inner courtyard – are well maintained. A lift takes you to the five floors of the building, as does a beautiful staircase with a wrought-iron balustrade.

Mas Toulouse (31)
20 minutes to the south of Toulouse, with tree-filled grounds and a remarkable swimming pool, a 19th-century family home carefully renovated into a bucolic event space. At the end of the first driveway that provides access to the departmental road, a majestic willow tree overhangs the small wooden bridge, which marks the property’s entrance. Previously used to provide water for livestock, a water lily-carpeted pond sets the tone, a first and graceful indication of the estate’s overall floral aesthetic. Surrounded by greenery, a winding driveway then leads to the long building, recounting centuries of successive constructions, in which welcoming suites have replaced the feed cellars. Three clearly defined spaces, the reception space, the guest house and the private area come one after another and are extended by elegant patios in front of each of their façades. The farmhouse occupies the eastern part of the property, which extends over 1.7 hectares with blooming flowers and trees. The building, with typically Toulouse-style architecture, alternates brick and stone compositions with foundations plastered in lime whitewash. To the north, it is protected by woods whose oak and acacia trees supply fuel for the house’s fireplace. The swimming pool, awarded with a gold medal for the most beautiful design in France by the Federation of Swimming Pool Professionals, adorns the southwest wing of the house with its harmonious conception. The orchard’s fruit trees take full advantage of their southern orientation to provide ripe seasonal fruit. Light-coloured, made-to-measure reception tents blend harmoniously with the surrounding nature.
