Square in plan flanked by four impressive round towers, this powerful fortress has particularly beautiful access via a large entrance gate with a high four-sided roof. The entrance door is richly carved with Corinthian capitals, and a remarkable door top with scrolls and mascarons. This wing was cleared following a fire and is empty of any fittings. The left wing, to the south, presents a series of beautiful and large rooms, some redecorated in the 18th and 19th centuries. Certain ceilings with molded beams and joists are particularly remarkable. A large esplanade outside the castle facing south opens onto the ground floor. The wing of the main building has a very beautiful and wide straight staircase with ramp on ramp with remarkable, particularly careful stone vaults. The interior volumes recall the large original rooms which disappeared during a fire. A superb wall fountain in an arcade, with consoles, including one decorated with gadroon, and a stone basin. Certain 18th century door frames including a French window on the ground floor with its Spanish window. The entrance wing of the chatelet has arcades on the ground floor, inside numerous beautiful and large rooms, a stone spiral staircase. The towers and the gatehouse are all decorated with machicolations and battlements of superb quality. The towers feature superb fireplaces on each floor.
