In the Morbihan department of Brittany, a 17th and 19th century chateau and its outbuildings, with 12 ha of woodlands and meadows.
The south of Morbihan enjoys a mild climate all year round, less than 30 minutes from the beaches or Auray train station, which connects to Paris in 2h40. The dual carriageway is easily accessed in a few minutes, as well as the basic shops and services. The estate is located in woodlands, surrounded by peaceful and rural landscapes. Hiking trails, especially along a nearby river, offer a different way to discover Brittany. Horse-riding, golf and water sports are also to be found nearby.
In a gently undulating countryside combining forests, meadows and farmlands, the property can be reached via small country roads that are only used by the few local residents. From a forest road, a small track leads through a gate into a vast, partially walled courtyard at the rear of the chateau containing a few outbuildings and the remains of former buildings. Situated on a twelve hectare estate and bordering an even larger wooded area (a further 58 ha which may also be offered for sale), the chateau sits in a prominent position, overlooking the countryside and its unspoilt landscapes. In the immediate vicinity, several outbuildings, a caretaker's cottage and barns complete the property. On one side of the chateau, slightly below a terrace, a landscaped area with several private alleys leads to the woodland, the swimming pool or to the bottom of the estate where horses peacefully frolic in a vast meadow.
The chateauBuilt during the 17th century on the grounds of an older estate, it was transformed in the 19th century. With a T-shaped plan, it has a central section, flanked by two lateral wings with triangular pediments, bearing the arms of its first occupants. A triple flight of stairs leads to the entrance door of the main section, which is topped by an arched pediment. A further perpendicular wing to the rear is an extension of the main building. The western wing abuts a single storey rubble masonry building with a slate gable roof. The main edifice is of lime-rendered rubble stone masonry with dressed stone window frames and quoins. The main south-facing facade is punctuated by tall windows which enhance its stately appearance. The north side is more modest, with windows only on the upper level.
The chateau is topped by a double-pitched blue Angers slate roof with tall chimneys and several skylights.

The central flight of steps leads up to the front door and a vast central entrance hall revealing the interior of the chateau and serving several rooms on either side. The five rooms, bathed in light thanks to their high ceilings, follow one after another in a row. On the east side, a first large sitting room with a fireplace topped by an ornamental mirror gives access to a corner study with mock woodwork plastering, which in turn connects to a double room. The renovated ceilings of these two rooms are adorned with trompe-l'œil paintings for the study and coffered woodwork for the large sitting room. On the west side, a dining room with wood-panelled walls and an ornamental coffered ceiling leads to a small drawing room with a monumental fireplace and access to a small outside terrace. These two rooms connect with a small landing leading first to the kitchen and then to the single-storey extension comprising the scullery with a secondary entrance, a summer kitchen with a monumental fireplace and the boiler room. To the right of the main entrance, an archway provides access to the wing set at right angles, which features a hall and a grand granite baluster staircase serving all the levels and almost all the split-levels of the chateau. To the rear of the staircase is a room with a toilet and storage space. Two doors lead outside, situated on either side of the …
