In Orgeval, near to Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Poissy, an old, 250 m² hunting lodge and its 3,300 m² garden.
An old hunting lodge, spanning approx. 250 m² with a 3,300 m² garden, in a historic district, not far from the centre of Orgeval. This recently extended house features architecture that is both classical and original, a blend of old and contemporary lines. It has an entrance hall, a fully glazed, 29 m² dining room, a small, 18 m² lounge, a large, 41 m² lounge, a 20 m² kitchen with an eating area, a toilet as well as three bedrooms, each with its own bath or shower room, with a toilet, and cupboards or a wardrobe. The basement is composed of several storage rooms. A double garage completes this property. The garden, like the house, is immaculately kept. A source can be used for watering purposes.
The main houseThis old hunting lodge was constructed from millstone grit, probably at the end of the 19th century. The premises have been enhanced with a contemporary, wood and glass extension, the design of which merges with the previous house, notably preserving the original roof inside the new building. The L-shaped layout creates a large area taken up by a wide terrace, looking out over the garden.
A few steps lead to the entrance door set on the side of the house. When the weather is clement, wide picture windows in the modern veranda, housing the reception room, can be opened all on a level with the terrace. This east-facing room, with its high ceiling, looks widely out over the garden. A contemporary stairway goes upstairs. The kitchen, which doubles as a dining room, as well as a cosy reading or television room open off this reception room. A wide hall area at the end, in front of one of the two stairways going upstairs, is currently used as a study. It provides access to a toilet and to a large square lounge. Enhanced with a stone fireplace, it is decorated with panelling and built-in bookshelves. This room is steeped in light courtesy of four large windows that overlook the garden.
This level, reached via two stairways, is very pleasant and easy to move around. A wide balcony corridor, above the dining room, leads to two bedrooms, with built-in cupboards. One of the bedrooms has a bathroom with a toilet, the other has a shower room with a toilet. The second stairway leads to a landing with a toilet and the master bedroom which includes a bathroom and toilet, a large bedroom with parquet flooring and, recently installed in a glazed section, a wardrobe with a study area overlooking the garden.
The basement comprises several storage rooms as well as a boiler room and a laundry room. It also has a door leading out into the garden.
This slightly sloping garden spans a surface area of more than 3,300 m². It is planted with mature trees, over a hundred years old, including cedar, yew, lime, plane, acacia, ash and Italian black pine trees as well as numerous shrubs and flowerbeds, laid out around a large lawn. A little alley winds its way through the garden and leads, at the bottom, to a source and its old fountain. A recent wooden chalet is used for storing tools.
