On the ground floor, a communal storage space – the former caretaker’s home now – can be used to store pushchairs, bicycles and scooters. A lift takes you up to the apartment, as does a spiral staircase that is typical of Marseille with a wooden handrail and steps adorned with terracotta tiles. The apartment door on the third-floor landing leads into a spacious, high-ceilinged hallway.
