The lane, adorned with snowdrops, crocuses, and later daffodils along the riverbank, offers a picturesque journey. Come spring, the wooded areas burst into carpets of native bluebells, adding to the enchantment The substantial 6 bedroom farmhouse sits comfortably within over 20 acres of mixed grounds including pasture, woodland and the Nant Cwm-Cyfyng river running though with its pretty hump backed stone bridge connecting with the land on the opposite banks. The sellers have capitalised on the serene setting over recent years by creating a camping field in one of the riverside paddocks. .    The main residence offers extensive accommodation with six bedrooms and three to four rooms. It is the land that will be the appeal too many, with glorious woodland, pasture, gardens, orchards and attractive wildlife pond. This diverse area has something to suit most, whether that is livetsock, ponies or simply enjoyment of the natural habitat and the privacy that the land affords. ..    The farmstead of Bryn y Cadno has a long and interesting history dating back to the 16th century (1594) with buildings and associated structures forming a group of very distinctive character. The layout of the farmhouse is derived from a longhouse plan with the well preserved cow house on the other side of the stream of an even earlier date. Material in the National Library references the history of Bryn-y-Cadno back over 400 years and gives good reason to suppose that Bryn y Cadno is medieval in origin. Location    Located in the community of Capel Issac, one of the most sought after regions of Carmarthenshire. It is conveniently situated for the popular market town of Llandeilo, about 3 miles, where there is a great range of local shops along with primary and secondary schooling. The County town of Carmarthen is about 16 miles where there is a more comprehensive choice of shopping facilities and the M4 at Pont Abraham about 10 miles providing great access across south Wales and beyond. Walk Inside    A traditional open porch guides you to the main hallway, where a staircase ascends to the first floor. To the left, discover a stunning sitting room boasting an exposed stone wall, complete with a recessed fireplace with woodburning stove and an inviting slate hearth. An impressive stoned capped shelf divides the space, creating a charming study area within the room. On the opposite side of the hallway, a further living room awaits, featuring exposed wooden beams and a deep recess fireplace with a characterful bread oven and gas stove (currently non-operational). Serving as the heart of the home, the kitchen offers a range of fitted floor and wall units, complemented by a ceramic tiled floor, a two-oven oil-fired Aga, and a traditional ceiling beam .    The secondary entrance hall offers ample opportunity for customisation, with potential for subdivision. Accessed from here are practical amenities including a utility room and ground floor toilet, as well as a study in turn leading to an additional sitting room, which could serve as an AirBnB annex, with sevice provisions understood to be in place for a small corner kitchen. Adjacent to this area is a ground floor bedroom suite comprising a generously sized double bedroom and a spacious wet room equipped with a shower, WC, and wash hand basin. Completing the ground floor level is a garden room with a ceramic tiled floor and French doors leading to the front, offering the possibility of separate access. ..    Access to the first floor is facilitated by two main staircases, with the main landing situated in the older section of the property. From here, access is provided to two double bedrooms, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom complete with WC, wash basin, and a panelled bath. The larger of the three bedrooms features its own ensuite bathroom adorned in avocado green, equipped with WC, wash basin, and a panelled bath with shower over. A further staircase leads to the second landing which can also be approached via a door from the larger bedroom, granting access to two additional double bedrooms and a shower room featuring WC, wash basin, and a shower cubicle. Additionally, a further door from one of the bedrooms opens into two sizable rooms currently utilised for storage. Walk Outside    The property enjoys a cluster of traditional buildings, one of which is thought to date back as much as 400 years. The main buildings include the former Cowshed, a large stone built structure; the Stable block, also of stone construction with three stables and the Cart Shed, an open ended stone building. The Land    The land amounts to just over 21 acres or thereabouts as a mixture of level grassed paddocks, woodland, meadows, a natural lake all intersected by a small river that adds to the charm of this wonderful home. The gardens have been well cared for with a series of vegetable beds, mature shrubs and large areas of lawns. NOTES    A number of public footpaths cross the property.

House Caldicot (United Kingdom)

This charming four-bedroom cottage fuses cosy, historic character with stunning, contemporary living spaces and combines the convenience of an edge-of-town location with a private parkland-style setting and the enduring appeal of open views over the lovely south Monmouthshire countryside. I love sunsets and we have the most amazing sunsets here and wonderful skies, because it is flat and open. I have a table and chairs in the front garden, where I can sit in the afternoon and evening, looking over the farmers' fields to the west, just enjoying the skies. Fairfield sits in immaculately-kept, mature grounds of approximately 2 acres which include stables and a stable yard with independent access. There are also three substantial outbuildings, with current business use but with flexibility to be used for leisure purposes, separate home working space or, with planning permission, converted into further accommodation. Ideal for country-lovers who want the best of both worlds, the property is convenient to the motorway network and to nearby amenities. It is situated on the outskirts of Magor, a lively, welcoming and family-friendly community, roughly equidistant between the market town of Chepstow and the city of Newport (9 miles). Proximity to the M4 means for commuting, shopping, leisure and entertainment, there is easy access to other nearby towns and cities such as Cardiff, Bristol, Monmouth and Abergavenny. At the heart of Magor, an historic square is filled with a variety of independent shops, including a delicatessen which also sells fresh fruit and veg. The town boasts a local Post Office, a handy convenience store and a number of lovely cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The community is served by a Church in Wales Primary School, whilst Undy Primary School and Bryn Primary School are other nearby options and for secondary education, there is the well-regarded Caldicot School. In an area that has a wealth of interesting local history and easy access to beautiful countryside, Fairfield is close to the Severn Estuary, on the Gwent Levels. This landscape of international significance is home to a great diversity of wildlife and Magor Marsh, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is a tranquil environment teeming with wildfowl and fauna. Step inside:- - Dating from the early 1900s, the cottage was extended some 70 years later and has recently been modernised and upgraded, to provide lovely, open-plan living space, carefully planned to create a seamless flow from traditional to modern. Exposed timbers, original stone walls and an open fireplace with a wood burning stove on a flagstone hearth give the characterful living room a wonderful, warm ambience, which contrasts with the feel of the beautifully presented, light and airy contemporary kitchen which it opens into. Once separated by a dividing wall, these two rooms now provide one wow space. Says the vendor: Where we once had small, dark rooms, we now have space suitable for 21st Century living. The vendors have recently installed the stunning, modern kitchen, with its comprehensive range of units and wood effect laminate flooring, chosen for practicality. I opted for country-style units to suit the property and planned lots of workspace as I like to cook. We have a big family and when we get together they always come to us. The kitchen has a large central island, incorporating a breakfast bar and the room also has ample space for a separate dining table. The kitchen incorporates integrated appliances and a Range cooker (with LPG gas hob and electric double oven). The kitchen is flooded with natural light, being open plan to a handy utility room which leads straight through to a sun room, with glazed doors to a charming rear courtyard, perfect for dining al fresco. The neatly-presented utility room, with units to match the kitchen, includes space and plumbing for a washing machine and built-in space for an upright fridge/freezer. From the kitchen, there is a doorway to a rear hallway which leads through to a comfortable lounge. Like the living room, this is situated in the oldest part of the house and it is full of character, with an exposed original stone wall featuring an inset fireplace on a raised hearth (not a working fireplace) and a stone-built corner seat. The lounge has a window to the side garden. It is a lovely, comfortable room. It gets the sun first thing in the morning and it very light and warm. Next to the lounge is one of the vendor's favourite rooms a spacious games room with an in-built bar and sliding doors to the rear garden. It's a great family party room and we have had some really fun times in it, including birthdays, Christmases, christenings and even a fancy dress event. Off the rear hallway, there is also a is a fully-tiled downstairs shower room, refitted during the property's recent refurbishment, when the vendors also installed stylish grey traditional column radiators throughout the ground floor. From the rear hallway a pair of glazed doors gives access to the rear courtyard and stairs lead up to the first floor, where there are four bedrooms, including one with an ensuite bathroom and built-in wardrobes and another which also benefits from fitted wardrobes. The master bedroom, which overlooks the front garden, has fitted wardrobes, built-in shelving and a spacious and luxurious en-suite bathroom with a whirlpool bath in one corner and a large walk-in shower in another. Off the landing there is a handy storage cupboard. Back on the ground floor, what was once a double garage has been converted into two further rooms, which could be used as a study and further reception room. The flexible space, accessed through the sun room but also with independent access from the front of the cottage, could alternatively be returned to a garage or converted to provide a ground floor bedroom or annexe accommodation. Outside - From the road, a pair of five bar gates open to an impressive gravelled driveway, which leads up to the front of the cottage and around to the side, where there is ample parking. Either side of the driveway, large level lawns planted with mature trees, including 50-year-old willows, give a parkland feel. Spring bulbs planted along the fence line at the front of the properly are a mass of seasonal colour. At the rear of the cottage, opening from the sun room, is a lovely, sheltered and secluded courtyard area, where pretty climbing plants clamber over a wooden pergola. The courtyard, laid with pavers in a circular pattern, makes a wonderful spot for outdoor entertaining. Past a garden shed in one corner of the courtyard, steps lead up to a vegetable garden, with two raised beds and a greenhouse. The gardens and grounds also include an orchard with a variety of fruit trees. Fairfield enjoys a beautiful level position, extending to approximately 2 acres and also including a stable yard, with wooden stables with three loose boxes, with independent access through a five bar gate directly from the road. Further, substantial buildings, all with business use granted, comprise a brick-built, L-shaped building (which could provide further stabling) and two further single-storey blocks. The countryside views from the front are spectacular and the access to explore what you see is easy. Straight from the front door to the landscape, pathways take you into surrounding ancient woodland offering peaceful walks and rural rambles. Inside, the five-bed detached home is a mesmerising blend of old and new. The current living room is the core of the former farmhouse, boasting an original floor, impressive inglenook fireplace with bread oven, exposed beams, wood floor, and original stone staircase. The sizeable kitchen boasts a new, bespoke, traditional-style oak farmhouse kitchen with an Aga, island unit and pantry, and the joining dining area offers doors out to the garden terrace to be fully immersed in the panoramic views. The study at the rear could also be used as the fifth bedroom, and upstairs four character-packed bedrooms and three bathrooms wait to be discovered and admired. Hidden away an undulating rural landscape it feels like Garth Uchaf Farm is miles away from the world, but it is actually only a few miles from the popular village of Pontyclun, the sprawling retail park at Talbot Green and local schools, sports facilities, amenities and facilities such as Royal Glamorgan hospital, parks and walks, and places to socialise and eat, drink and be merry. Further afield is no problem too, with the M4 junction just a short drive away opening up the opportunity to commute for work or more social events towards Cardiff in one direction and Bridgend and Swansea in the other, with the glorious south Wales coastline and beaches never too far from the front door either. Step Inside:- - Step inside this handsome and historic home and it instantly wraps you in a welcoming warmth created from its 500 years of history and its abundance of impressive original features. The house has been lovingly renovated to respect and revive its history while adding tasteful and timeless features to create a perfect balance within a perfect home for modern family living. Original features such as beams and floors have been cherished and restored and this is most evident in the living room, the period core of the farmhouse that is steeped in centuries of history. Step inside this cosy yet spacious room and you'll be enveloped in features to adore, from the original floor below to the exposed beams above. In the corner the original stone staircase curves around the corner, tempting you to explore upstairs, but there's much to enjoy on the ground floor first. The stand out feature of the living room is surely the massive inglenook fireplace, complete with bread oven, that is so sizeable you can sit inside to warm your cold winter toes to the maximum next to the robust log burner that sits pride of place on a stone hearth. An abundance of comfy armchairs and squishy sofas can cluster around this incredible feature to share social gatherings. It's the place to effortlessly make memories that last for a lifetime as the chat and laughter continues long after the dying embers of the fire. Into the kitchen and it's a successful combination of timeless and tasteful design, soft countryside inspired shades, and hidden modern appliances, creating the perfect farmhouse kitchen for now and into the future. The cook will be in their element, with an Aga to support their feast creation, an abundance of oak worksurfaces, oodles of storage across the bespoke, oak kitchen units, plus a kitchen island as well as a feature much-hoped for by many buyers - a separate pantry. The kitchen is the heart of this lovely home, with the cook being kept company via the spacious, open-plan dining room in the added side extension. This bonus area also boast large French doors to the front terrace and those absorbing rural views, a seamless connection inside to outside that adds to this kitchen diner social hub. If you're working or quietly reading in the study, as well as being joined by mesmerising country views, you are cocooned in history as you work within this distinctive space once being used as a milking parlour. The house is as versatile as it is beautiful, with this third reception space easily able to adapt to a different function, such as a fifth bedroom. Throughout the house the current owners have spent 10 years creating the perfect balance of old and new and seamless flow between spaces supported by their chosen decor - natural materials such as wood, rattan, leather and stone, soft textures, fresh white walls mixed with gentle shades of grey. This attention to detail continues up the stairs to the first floor via either the original stone steps in the lounge or the more recent oak staircase in the large and spacious central hallway, where you will also find a handy cloakroom. The principal bedroom is an idyllic sanctuary, a double-height space that boasts exposed beams, and light and views cascading in through three windows as a gentle wake-up call every morning before stumbling into the luxury ensuite. There are four bedrooms, two ensuites and a family bathroom on this upper floor and all have been given care and thought when being renovated to produce spaces that can all boast their own character and personality, with the stunning views as a constant at each window. The bathroom is the perfect place where the owners' careful mix of old and new is in beautiful evidence - new oak flooring is crowned by a restored, roll-top bath dating back to the 1900s. Outside - Step outside into the surrounding 6.5 acres of land that begin with a long and winding driveway off the quiet country lane to the truly private handsome house that nestles into the undulating landscape. From the home's elevated position, the panoramic views are beautiful, cocooning the home in the most stunning of peaceful locations. There are terraces that hug the house as the hubs of any garden party, family BBQ or alfresco dining gathering, with the expansive view a constant and welcome member of the group, providing the most absorbing of backdrops. From a relaxed morning coffee listening to the soundtrack of birdsong right through to a late night drink under a starry, inky sky, the immediate garden is truly special, with the hot tub under a pergola is surely a popular spot with everyone, any time of the day or night or in any weather. But there is so much more to explore outside at this fabulous family home, and it includes impressive equestrian facilities that ensure the horses, as well as the humans, will be happy living there. There are approximately 6.5 acres of land, with the option of renting another 6.5, that boasts a 20m x 40m floodlit all-weather manège that has the most incredible, far-reaching views towards the Vale of Glamorgan. More exploring reveals 10 stables, with some currently being used as workshops, plus a range of paddocks and ample parking options for many guests as well as a multitude of vehicles including horseboxes, trailers and even lorries. Pathways and bridleways in the area provide enticing trips out into the beautiful countryside that cloaks the area in foliage, ancient woodland and a patchwork of fields. Back at the house, there are more options to develop the site even further via the stables and outbuildings, maybe even converting them into an extra dwelling, subject to planning consent. Alternatively, forget renovating work and grab a garden chair and a drink and immerse yourself in this truly idyllic location at this most amazing of country homes. House Saint Arvans (United Kingdom)

This magnificent, Grade II listed family home sits in private, part-walled gardens in a Conservation Area at the historic heart of the desirable village of St Arvans, at the gateway to the beautiful Wye Valley. St Arvans Court is an attractive and exceptionally well-presented property, which benefits from three elegant reception rooms, a large, recently fitted family kitchen with a charming breakfast/dining area, seven bedrooms, a home office and a gym with a sauna. The historic house is thought to be Jacobean in origin, with an imposing Georgian addition at the front. It is remarkable for its lovely period features, which include a balcony along the full length of the back of the house and a unique circular sitting room at the front. Other classic detailing includes dado rails, cornicing, some original shutters, some pretty cast iron bedroom fireplaces and traditional cast iron radiators. Charming traditional features in the oldest part of the property include an open stone fireplace and exposed beams. The lovely property has been home to the vendors for the past 25 years and in that time they have lovingly refurbished, modernised and maintained it. It's a special house and has made an absolutely perfect family home. It is peaceful and has a real warmth about it. When we first viewed it, the children loved it, particularly the two attic bedrooms, which they claimed as theirs. The vendors were also attracted to the area, which is very popular with families. St. Arvans is a charming village, situated in the Lower Wye Valley, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife, it's a good base for those who enjoy walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. It's also a friendly place with a strong sense of community. The Memorial Hall hosts a busy calendar of events and village facilities include a pub, church, day nursery and two playing fields. Only two miles away, in Chepstow, there are schools, further leisure facilities, a range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, supermarkets and an M&S Foodhall. This lovely ancient market town is the site of Chepstow Castle, reputedly the earliest stone-built Norman stronghold. Chepstow racecourse is within walking distance of St Arvans and there are golf and leisure facilities at nearby St Pierre Golf & Country Club. From the village, it's only three and a half miles to the Severn Bridge and to the motorway network, bringing Bristol, Newport and Cardiff within easy reach. There are regular trains to London from Bristol Parkway and international flights from Bristol and Cardiff airports. Step Inside:- - The house is rendered and painted, with Welsh slate roofs. It has an attractive, symmetrical facade with sash windows with decorative dripmoulds over. There is a grand, central entrance porch with a front door with pretty leaded panes set below a leaded fanlight. The welcoming entrance hallway has tessellated tiled flooring and an attractive ceiling arch. Solid wood doors open from either side of the hallway to the two elegant, high ceilinged reception rooms which both have sash windows (with their original shutters) overlooking the front of the property. One of these rooms is the gorgeous, circular sitting room, which has two large alcoves either side of an attractive fireplace, housing a wood burning stove. The round room is my favourite place in the winter because it is so cosy and tranquil in there. It is a perfect place to cuddle up on the sofa in front of the log burner. Across the hallway, the second reception room, used as a formal dining room, is perfect for dinner parties and Christmas entertaining. In a similar style to the sitting room, at one end of the room there are two large alcoves with decorative plasterwork in a semi-circular wall, framing a feature fireplace. One alcove houses a purpose-built dresser. In the other there is an intriguing, revolving dumb waiter, which connects with the kitchen. I can't say we have ever used it but it is an unusual feature to have! The kitchen/breakfast room is in the original Jacobean part of the house, at the back of the property, where lower, beamed ceilings lend the rooms traditional character and charm. The stylish, recently refitted kitchen features a range of contemporary, pebble grey units, quartz worksurfaces, splashbacks and upstands, Mandarin Stone porcelain floor tiles and a traditional Belfast sink. The well-planned kitchen includes a large island, plenty of cupboard and drawer space, a comprehensive range of inbuilt appliances and a large larder cupboard. There is a two-oven, oil-fired Aga as well as a separate cooker and hob. A door from the kitchen opens to a side porch which leads to a patio at the side of the house, used for outdoor dining and entertaining. The kitchen leads through to a large breakfast/dining area with three exposed ceiling beams and an impressive stone fireplace, with an oak beam over, housing a huge wood burning stove on a flagstone hearth. With the Aga at one end and the big log burner at the other, this room is really warm and cosy. From the breakfast/dining area, there is a door to the back garden and to one side of the fireplace, five steps lead up to a fitted utility room, with a Belfast sink, space and plumbing for a washing machine and space for a tumble dryer. This room is in a modern, single storey extension at the side of the house, which could be converted into an annexe if required. A door from the utility room leads through to a study/home office with a large window overlooking the garden as well as a door to the outside. I chose this as my home office because it is quiet and away from the main house and it was an ideal place to work from home, without being disturbed. Beyond the study is a home gym with a sauna, whilst in this extension there is also an integrated single garage, with a courtesy door into the utility room. The downstairs accommodation is completed by a WC situated off the porch to the side of the kitchen. From the entrance hallway a Georgian staircase with turned spindles and a mahogany handrail leads up to a first-floor family living room, which has two sets of French doors to the balcony running along the back of the house. On warm evenings, it is lovely to throw them open to the balcony it brings the outside in. The room has traditional oak flooring and a fireplace with a decorative wood surround housing a wood burning stove. There are also three bedrooms on this floor, including the principal suite, a light and airy space with two sash windows to the front of the property and an arched window to the side. There's a dressing area and a modern ensuite with a contemporary free-standing bath and a steam shower. Also overlooking the front of the house is a double guest bedroom which features a charming cast iron fireplace. At the back of the house, with French doors to the balcony, there is a further double bedroom which has a door to the Jack and Jill family bathroom, also accessible from the hallway. Stairs lead up to a second floor, where, on a half landing, there is a door to a two-bedroom, self-contained apartment, which has its own private access up a metal staircase from the outside. Ideal as separate space for grandparents or grown-up children, the vendors have mainly used it as part of their main accommodation. It was useful having two kitchens when the children were teenagers and entertaining their friends. The stairs lead on up to the two delightful double bedrooms in the attic, both with the A-frame exposed. These are the rooms the children fell in love with. One room has a charming curved window and a door to ample hanging and storage space in the eaves. The other has a porthole window. The rooms share a modern bathroom. Running underneath the front of the house, accessed from the garden or from steps down from the breakfast area, here is a barrel-roofed cellar with a flagstone floor, used for storage. Outside - The house stands in gardens of 0.80 acres, enclosed by an old stone wall on three sides and a tall hedge on the other, providing privacy. One of the beauties of the house is that it is in the village, with houses all around, but it is private and quite quiet. The property is accessed through a pair of wooden gates set in the stone wall. A driveway leads to ample parking in front of the property and then on round to the single garage at the side of the house. There is a mature Wellingtonia at the front of the house and a recently planted rare deciduous Sequoia. There is a large area of lawn at the back of the house and a sheltered patio to one side, perfect for summer barbeques and for a hot tub. An arbour half way up the garden is a lovely place to enjoy the last of the sun. A lavender bed borders a flagstone area under the balcony. An area of garden at the side of the property has been fenced off and contains a raised vegetable bed. It's a perfect-sized garden, completely safe for the dogs. When the children were growing up, the house was always full of their friends. It was fantastic for parties and the garden was a magnet for them all. House Dinas Powys (United Kingdom)

Fine & Country Cardiff are pleased to present to the market this charming six-bedroom cottage located in the highly sought after village of Dinas Powys. Old Mill Farmhouse is a beautiful character cottage that dates back to the 1400s, retaining many original features such as Inglenook fire place, bread oven and exposed beams. The property has been lovingly restored over the years by its current owners, who have enjoyed the property as their family home for many years, read their comments below: Seller Insight: - When we first saw Old Mill Farmhouse it struck us as an ideal oasis. It is completely private and secluded, yet it is in the heart of the village, close to the village square, with the ruins of a Norman castle just at the top of the garden. No-one quite knew the house was there and we later found out that when it went on the market, there were two open days when almost the whole village went to view it out of curiosity! We believe it is one of the oldest houses in Dinas Powys, built as a farmhouse to the mill next door in 1460 and mentioned in a will in 1533. We think it was extended in the 1830s and when we came across it, it had the appearance of a typical country cottage. We bought it in 1987, inheriting with it a cat, Tudor, who didn't want to move away. Then the work really started. It was unlived in, very ramshackle and with an overgrown garden. We set about the renovations one room at a time and really put heart and soul into the house. Because of its history, the house has some lovely features. Some of our favourites are the beamed ceiling in the dining room and the exposed natural stone fireplaces. We love the downstairs lounge where there's an original inglenook fireplace with a bread oven to one side and a little salt drying shelf the other. The alcove beside the fireplace had a curved wall from the original 15th century staircase leading to the upstairs. In the oldest part of the house, the walls are at least two feet thick, so in the summer, it is beautifully cool but in winter the walls provide great insulation and, with the log burner going, it is very cosy. Recently we took up the carpets in the downstairs lounge, hall and dining room and revealed the old flooring quarry tiles, boarding and some really ancient tiles, which could be original to the property. In 1999 we commenced an extension, using a local architect and local builders. We tried to make it in keeping with the theme of a Welsh longhouse so we built into the bank and carried on the line of the roof. It has given us so much extra space and light and a second staircase which has improved the flow of the house. We had a great Millennium party there, before the oak floor was fitted. We left the tinsel and confetti with the date 2000 on it under the flooring and there is a time capsule buried in one of the walls. The new, top lounge is perfect for us all to gather together as a family. It is a really lovely, sunny, bright and airy room with recently replaced bifold doors out to the patio. It's a lovely house for entertaining, which we used to do fairly often for birthdays and anniversaries, with 40 to 50 people in attendance. It was ideal, with the big new lounge upstairs and the other, cosier rooms. It was great for kids' and adults' parties there was always plenty of space. The garden is pretty special. It is a country-style garden, very secluded, with well-established trees and shrubs, mature apple and cherry trees and lots of fruit bushes. We even once had a vegetable patch. The different levels make it interesting and we have our own patch of woodland which is carpeted with daffodils, wild garlic and bluebells, depending on the season. It feels as if you are in the middle of the countryside. At the top of the garden there is room for a lovely summer house or home office, although there are enough rooms in the house to provide work from home space as well. The house faces south and in fine weather it is baked in sun most of the day. Quite often when we came home from work we would sit on the top patio by the pond and waterfall and catch the late afternoon and early evening sun. But because of the apple and cherry trees, there is always shade if you need it. * These comments are the personal views of the current owners and are included as an insight into life at the property. They have not been independently verified, should not be relied on without verification and do not necessarily reflect the views of the agent. Accommodation summary: - As you approach Old Mill Farmhouse from Lettons Way it would be easy to miss the property as it is tucked away in its own private spot. There is a set of steps that lead up alongside a sweeping driveway surrounded by trees, you will spot the sign at the bottom that displays the house name, which is about the only giveaway that there is a house located above. It is surprising that such a secluded property set in such a quiet spot could be so conveniently located for village life, this home really does offer the best of both worlds. Dinas Powys is a highly sought after residential area, offering fantastic schools, great village pubs, train station and easy access to the motorways. The accommodation offers, entrance hallway, three reception rooms, conservatory, study, boot room, cloakroom, kitchen/breakfast room, six bedrooms and a sizeable plot to the front and side of the property along with ample parking for 4/5 vehicles. The property would suit a range of buyers especially young families due to the excellent schooling facilities, and so much to do within close range of the property, from renowned walking trails, blue flag beaches, fashionable shopping, local amenities, Cardiff city centre only 4 miles away and the Brecon Beacons National Park less than an hour away there is plenty on offer to enjoy. The kitchen, with plenty of storage, integrated appliances and a breakfast bar also provides access to the garden. On the first floor you will find the principal bedroom with en suite bathroom, complete with sunken bath tub, a second bedroom, with access to a balcony and a family bathroom. The second floor comprises two further bedrooms with expansive views over the West London skyline. Additional benefits include a downstairs cloakroom, a cellar, currently being used as storage and off street parking for a couple of cars. Situated in a prime Ealing location on one of the most sought after residential roads and located nearby to many prestigious schools which include Montpelier, St Gregory’s, St Benedict’s, Durston, Harvington, St Augustine’s and Notting Hill and Ealing High. Whilst being close to everything that Ealing has to offer, this location feels far enough away from the busy town centre and is relatively quiet. Ealing Broadway station is approximately 0.9 miles away which currently provides Central and District lines, as well as First Great Western services to Paddington and the West. Moreover, Ealing Broadway is now serviced by the new Elizabeth Line, dramatically reducing journey times across London. Helena Road is also in close proximity of the beautiful open spaces of Montpelier Park and Hanger Hill Park. Here is what the owners have said about the property We've lived here for eighteen years and we first viewed the house because we were attracted by the en-suite bathroom and the extra storage space of a cellar. We also always look for the privacy and quiet of having the sitting room and master bedroom at the back of the house. Then when we came to view it, we fell in love with the conservatory and we knew instantly that we just had to have it. It’s hard to pick our favourite part of the house, because I love the spacious sitting room, and as I have mentioned, the conservatory but my absolute favourite room would have to be the en-suite bathroom, which is quite spacious, and has a separate shower and sunken bath. I love a good bath full of bubbles, with candles around it, and a glass of of bubbly as an indulgent treat at the end of a long day. Other than my en-suite bathroom, we will miss the sunsets. The front of the house faces West and being at the top of a hill, we have a great view of absolutely stunning sunsets - at least once a week.
