Paris-Montparnasse TGV train station is 55 minutes away and a direct link with Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport takes 1¾ hours. 200 km from the centre de Paris via the A11 motorway, just 10 minutes away. 1 hour from the Loire Valley (Anjou and Touraine regions). Le-Mans has an aerodrome which is near to its 24-hour racing circuit and its Porsche-Experience-Centre driving school, two golf courses and the Le-Pôle-Européen-du-Cheval equestrian centre. A verdant town, Le-Mans is home to numerous parks and riverside promenades as well as the Plantagenet city. A 15-minute walk away are Botanical Gardens spanning 5 hectares. The work of Jean-Charles-Alphand, they include French formal and landscaped gardens as well as a large rose garden. Also, the park known as “Quinconce des Jacobins”, created in the 18th century, is followed by the romantic Tessé garden, at the foot of the museum of the same name. Le-Mans is a town of art and history. The Jacobins market, renowned as one of France’s most authentic markets, is held next to the cathedral and the medieval Plantagenet city. All amenities are within a 5-minute walk away (shops, all schools, a theatre, a cinema and the tram for the TGV train station).
Amidst the medieval roads and narrow streets of old Le-Mans, also known as Plantagenet city. In a paved street, away from the bustling town and majestically overlooking the river and the lower town, with a view of the distant hills and the first signs of the countryside.
Constructed in 1543 by the king’s public prosecutor, the listed mansion house fully reflects its era marked by an architectural transition between the late Middle-Ages and the development of the Renaissance period. Set back, behind Renaissance style gates and high walls, all that can be seen from the street are the ridges of the roof and their finials. The mansion house appears in the paved courtyard, like a small palace. All of its decorative features exude the Renaissance spirit, of which Le-Mans was a major centre in the west of the kingdom of France as of the episcopate of cardinal Philippe of Luxembourg, a great patron of Le-Mans’ cathedral and churches. This flat is on the ground floor with three possible entrances, two of which are via the hall in the stairway tower. A parking space is reserved in the courtyard solely for this flat. This property is completed by a private, south-west facing garden, with a view and a separate exit into the narrow street.
The flatSpanning 232 m² of living space, this merger of two flats could be separated once again if so desired. Furthermore, an additional 97 m² lot, with small windows and high ceilings, has been converted in the basement level. The eight main rooms all have high French ceilings which blend beautifully with the floors, laid with old, square or hexagonal terracotta tiles. The walls are covered with lime rendering. Old frescoes, dating from the 17th century, were upgraded in the lounge during the rehabilitation of the premises. They are listed. The entrance doors are decorated with linen-fold panels. The large, mullioned windows, featuring oak wood, decorated frames, let in light on the east side overlooking the courtyard, the south or garden side and the west side with views of the river, the countryside and the lower town. A monumental, stone, open-hearth fireplace in the lounge is in good working order. All the walls featuring light-coloured hues and the through light make this an extremely luminous property. A porch has steps leading down to the garden. This property is composed of four lots. It is part of a co-owned …
