When buying a home is buying a piece of Bermudian architectural heritage. Proudly overlooking Hamilton Harbour, with a landscape that has evolved for more than a century, one thing has remained a constant: Rocheterre. Built in 1909 by Frederick Hastings Hamilton, U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland, this magnificent Georgian residence is a timeless example of gracious colonial architecture. Set across 1.44 acres in Paget, the five-bedroom home encompasses approximately 5,700 sq. ft. of beautifully proportioned living space, combining historic character with the comfort and refinement expected of a modern family home. A cascading driveway sweeps across the Paget hillside and introduces a property of remarkable presence. Deep covered verandahs wrap around the home, creating wonderful spaces for outdoor living while capturing some of Bermuda’s most spectacular sunset views across Hamilton Harbour. Just beyond, a secluded swimming pool provides a peaceful retreat, while the expansive, level lawn offers an exceptional setting for gatherings of every size. As evening falls, the outlook transforms, with the twinkling lights of the City of Hamilton reflected across the harbour and sailboats quietly passing below. Extensive renovations and improvements have been continuously undertaken in recent years, ensuring that Rocheterre has been maintained in immaculate condition while carefully preserving the character and architectural integrity that make it so special. More than a home, Rocheterre represents a rare opportunity to become the next custodian of one of Bermuda’s distinguished historic residences, and is available to Bermudian, BOTC, PRC, and International Purchasers at your earliest convenience.
