  • Surface 280 m2
  • Rooms 11

  • Land 169 m2

A 19th century, middle-class home, spanning approx. 300 m², in the midst of one of the Vendée’s seaside towns.
Les-Sables-d'Olonne, 3Âœ hours from Paris via a direct TGV train line and 1ÂŒ hours from Nantes airport, is a town on the “Coast of Light”. With its 50,000 inhabitants, its rich economic base, its shops and its schools, it is a dynamic town and a well-known seaside resort.
This house, standing in the centre of the town, benefits from space provided by a wide square. The dykes and the beach are within easy walking distance.
This house, constructed in 1885, looks out over a wide square on one side and a pedestrian street on the other. Its layout is almost triangular, with two facades of uneven lengths and another with a clipped-off corner. Each of the two main sides has an entrance, one set in the last bay of one facade and one in the middle of the other. The architectural wealth of this house makes it an outstanding feature of the local heritage.
The floor surface area of this house spans approx. 300 m². Eight bedrooms and three lounges are laid out over its three levels. The presence of semi-underground cellars explains the short flight of steps leading up into the house.
The middle-class homeA facade with a clipped-off corner is set between two sections of building, one with four bays and the other with three. It reflects a wonderful architectural wealth: covered with a pavilion, slate roof, crowned with two finials and featuring a roof dormer. This opening, flanked by two jambs, is topped with a cornice decorated with a Renaissance style shell and enhanced with three fire pots. Quoins flank the vertical succession of three windows and a wrought iron balcony marks the opening of a French window on the second level.
The two main facades display the central decorative codes, although one is more sober than the other. Bull’s eye windows alternate with the roof dormers and a second balcony decorates one of the facades.
A discreet door in the entrance hall, concealed by the stairway, provides access to a few steps. The basement comprises storage areas and a machine room intended to house the boiler.
Ground floor
The entrance hall opens into a vestibule providing access to all the rooms on this level. A hanging spiral stairway features wrought iron railings. Two adjoining reception rooms are illuminated by five windows and separated via double glazed doors. A 19th century marble fireplace faces the two windows in the first room. A kitchen, laid out in two sections around a counter, opens on to a little terrace via a short straight flight of steps. It is extended by a laundry room with a toilet.
First floor
A door opening on to the landing gives access to a study, a bathroom and a large, adjoining bedroom. The latter opens on to the balcony on the cut-off corner facade and also communicates with the corridor. A second door on the landing opens on to the corridor which leads to another two bedrooms, a shower room and a large dressing room. The main facade balcony opens into one of the bedrooms and the dressing room.
Second floor
The landing leads to a corridor providing access to four bedrooms, one of which has a shower room, a lounge and a separate bathroom. All the rooms on this floor are illuminated via the roof dormers and the bull’s eye windows.
