The grounds extend mainly to the rear of the large residence, built on the southern edge of the estate. A pond and an ancient grove enhance the main facade. A caretaker's house links the main building to the former farmhouse, which no longer forms part of the estate. There is evidence of an earlier building dating back to the 16th century, when it belonged to the neighbouring religious complex, now demolished. A few remains bear witness to these origins, such as a transom window on the second floor of a tower on the north side. Initially a farmstead, the estate was redeveloped in the 18th century, as can be seen from the arched windows of the caretaker's house, which has remained largely unchanged since that period. The metalwork on the transom above the door to the outhouse reveals the construction date of the mansion and, in particular, its main facade, i.e. 1836. Its form and floor plan show that it used to include the eastern part of the former building. This last restoration campaign transformed the residence into its current shape. From then on, it featured a neo-classical decor, typified by a garden level with sunk drafts, bordered by a cornice and by four pilaster-like stringcourses extending over the three storeys between the three central windows, which form a slight central projection. This is accentuated by three hood moulds above the windows and a central balcony on the first floor. The western windows are protected by three guardrails. As evidenced by the interlacing letters G and C carved into the arched pediment crowning the central projection, it was built by one of the most important Ardèche families involved in the silk industry, linking the spinning mills of the Cévennes basin to the canuts (silk workers) of Lyon.
