what is a cookie?

The term "cookie" is a generic term that refers both to a text file placed in a dedicated space on the hard disk of your device (computer, tablet, mobile phone or any other device optimised for the Internet), when viewing content or online advertising, and similar technologies for reading or writing information on a user's device and tracking their activity on the Internet or in an application in combination with the use of cookies. Some cookies are essential to the use of the Site or the Application, others make it possible to optimise and personalise the contents displayed.

The cookie file contains certain information, such as a unique identifier, the name of the Site or Application, as well as numbers and characters. This cookie file can only be read by the issuer. It allows its issuer, during its validity period, to recognise the terminal concerned each time this terminal accesses digital content containing Cookies from the same issuer and to remember information, such as user preferences or information previously entered by the user in forms on the Site or in the Application. Some cookies can also be used to recognise a user when they return to a site or application, others to record the language settings of a site, still others to make targeted advertising.

A cookie does not directly identify a user (it does not contain names or first names), but the browser of a terminal or the application used, usually mobile. However, it allows you to track the actions of the same user using the unique identifier contained in the cookie file. The term "cookies" is also used generically to refer to other similar technologies such as web beacons or invisible pixels, which are small digital web beacons embedded on web pages or in emails and associated with the placement of cookies to track and analyse a user's browsing.

Four types of Cookies, corresponding to the purposes described below, may thus be stored in your terminal when you access our services during a visit to our Site or via our Application::

  1. Technical cookies to make your navigation on the Site and our Application possible, to ensure the security of the Site and the Application and to allow you to access the various services and contents of the Site and the Application.

Technical Cookies include cookies that are strictly necessary for navigation on our Site and our Application (such as session identifiers, the version of your operating system, the version of the Application used) that allow you to use the main functionalities of the Site or the Application, as well as function cookies that allow you to access specific functionalities, in particular to recognise you, to indicate your visit to a particular page and thus to improve your browsing experience: adapt the presentation of the Site to the display preferences of your device (language used, display resolution), remember passwords and other information relating to a form you have completed on the Site or Application (registration or login to your account). Technical cookies can also be used to implement security measures (for example, when you are asked to log back into your account after a certain period of time).

You may oppose the use of these cookies and delete them by using your browser settings, however you may no longer be able to access the Site, the Application and/or the Site and Application services.

These cookies have a very short lifetime, for strictly necessary cookies, the time of the session, and for functionality cookies the time of the session, a few hours and at most, one year.
  2. Audience measurement Cookies issued by us or by our technical service providers and regulated partners for the purpose of measuring the audience of the various contents and sections of our Site and our Application, in order to evaluate and better organise them

Audience measurement cookies are issued by us or by our technical service providers.

In addition to traffic analysis, they can, if necessary, detect navigation problems and therefore improve the ergonomics of our services. The traffic analysis services used by this Site and this Application only produce and send aggregate statistics and traffic volumes to our technical service providers, to the exclusion of any individual information. They do not allow to follow your navigation on other sites.

The lifetime of these audience measurement cookies does not exceed 13 months.

We also use tools to measure the effectiveness of our emailing campaigns, allowing us to take relevant commercial actions based on the information thus collected (for example, sending a new message or a personalised offer).

You can choose to refuse cookies for statistical analysis of your browsing data. To do so click here.
  3. Advertising Cookies to tailor the advertising materials of the Site/Application, or third-party sites or applications to your interests and measure their effectiveness.

The use of advertising cookies allows you to view the advertising or display sponsored links that we (or our partner agencies) feel are best suited to your user profile depending on your interests, or even your terminal, your navigation and your geographical location (subject to your prior agreement) but also to offer relevant content that may accompany you in your real estate search. It also allows you to adapt ads on other sites to your user profile.

The relevance of advertising content displayed on our Site/Application or third-party sites and applications may also be achieved, through the technologies of our governed partners, by combining the browsing information of the devices you use to connect to our Site/Application or other sites or applications with the data you provided to us upon registration or access to one of our services.

The refusal of these advertising cookies has no impact on the use of our Site or Application. However, refusing them will not result in the termination of advertising on our Site, our Application or the Internet.

This will only display advertising that does not take your interests into account.

What are advertising cookies used for?

The use of Advertising Cookies allows us and our partners or their business partners to display on our Site/Application or third party sites advertisements tailored to your interests based on your user profile, or, if applicable, based on information regarding your browsing on our Site/Application, and data regarding your geographic location (longitude and latitude) transmitted by your device with your prior consent.

They measure your interactions with these ads: count the number of ads displayed in our advertising spaces, identify these ads, the number of displays for a particular user, the number of "clicks" on each ad, and, if applicable, the subsequent actions taken on the pages to which these ads lead.

They also measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns carried out by these agencies on behalf of advertisers and to carry out counts in order to calculate the sums due to the players in the advertising distribution chain (communication agency, advertising network, site/distribution medium) and to establish statistics.

Cookies can also be used to limit the number of times you see the same ad on the same medium.

    How is this information collected?

Advertising Cookies (advertising ID for mobile devices) are placed on the user's terminal using technologies ("tags") provided by our advertising partners that are inserted into pages visited or directly inserted by advertisers into advertisements displayed on our Site/Application.

This tag will automatically pass on information about the content of the visited page or the advertisement placed on the visited page to these partners. This information is associated with the identifier contained in the Cookies deposited on your computer and/or mobile device by the advertising partners.

How long are these advertising cookies and associated data kept?

The lifetime of advertising cookies placed when you browse the Site/Application is 13 months. The associated data that are sent to the advertising partners are kept by the latter for a period that in principle does not exceed 13 months.

To find out how long cookies are associated with your user profiles by the advertising partners listed below, please consult the information on their sites.

How is your user profile established?

Your user profile is established according to pre-established categories by us or our advertising partners according to the contents that you consulted on our sites/applications, as well as that of the commercial partners of our advertising partners.

To learn more about these partnerships, consult the information on the sites of our partners listed below.

The information relating to the content consulted on our Site/Application is associated with the identifier contained in the cookies.

The use of cookies makes it possible to associate navigation data with your profile regardless of the terminal used, thanks to cookie exchange technologies implemented by our partners.

Your profile is also enriched with information from your interactions with us and, depending on the business partnerships with our advertising partners, based on information communicated as part of your interactions with third parties who have entered into a partnership agreement with our partners, such as when you are connected to an online service or when you subscribe to a service. Reconciliations are also made with data collected offline and stored in our customer management tools or those of our partners' business partners.

The use of Advertising Cookies enables us and our partner agencies and/or their business partners to tailor direct marketing communications to you based on your interactions with advertisements placed on our Site/Application. Thus, navigation on a page of our Site/Application containing an advertisement for one of our services or for a product of a particular advertiser or a sponsored link of a particular advertiser displayed by our partners may trigger the sending of an email from us or from that advertiser in connection with the advertisement seen.

  4. Sharing cookies (social networks) intended to improve the interactivity of the site.

Our site contains cookies sharing links to Facebook, Twitter, Viadeo and other similar social networks, which allow you to share content from our Site/Application with other people or to let those other people know your consultation or opinion regarding content on the Site/Application.

This applies, in particular, to "share", "like" buttons from the "Facebook" or "Twitter" social networks. The social network providing such an application button is likely to identify you through this button, even if you did not use it when viewing our Site/Application.

These cookies are deposited directly by these social networks. If you are connected to the social network while browsing our Site/Application, the sharing buttons allow you to link the content consulted to your user account.

We invite you to consult the privacy protection policies of these social networks in order to learn about the purposes of use, including advertising, of the browsing information they may collect through these application buttons.

The lifetime of these cookies does not exceed 13 months.
