A registered historical monument, this outstanding medieval castle was built between the 12th and 15th centuries, and entirely renovated after a huge fire in 1917. Located only 40 km away from Limoges, within the city limits of Dournazac, the property features 3,500 sq m of living space and no less than four towers, each with an elevator. "It's a unique estate, says Mercure Limousin agency. France has only four fortified castles left from this era." Highlights include vintage elements (fireplaces, floors…), a Master suite with a bathroom, a jacuzzi and a sauna, two children rooms, several guest rooms, a secret bedroom (with a hidden entrance, a kitchen and a bar), a chapel, a snooker room, a music studio and an amazing entrance hall. The property lies in the heart of a 200-ha gated park boasting lakes, moors, oak and chestnut tree forests. A helicopter drop zone is also part of the domain. The marquise de Pompadour and General de Gaulle stayed there. Recently, actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tried to acquire the property before they changed their mind.
Proposed price : 20 millions d’euros
