Deer are not tagged or handled, allowing them to develop and thrive naturally. Over 600 acres of the preserve have been purpose-built to support the herd, with food plots of developed and maintained over the past 12 years to ensure a consistent, high-quality forage supply. These consist of sweet clover, alfalfa, ladino clover, and orchard grass. Natural water sources are distributed throughout the property, and ample shelter is available within a predator-free environment. The entire acreage is enclosed by an 8-foot Tite Lok high-tensile page wire fence, reinforced with buried predator wire along the exterior to prevent digging incursions. The perimeter fence is electrified at 10,000 volts at both the 3-foot and 7-foot heights, providing a secure, low-maintenance containment system.
