Living between NYC and London, Rafael de Cardenas is a thirtysomething architect and designer whose projects – private or public – are mainly inspired by the 1980s. His works include shops, restaurants and private interiors that he has remodeled in a contemporary style. "I truly love what I’ve achieved so far," he says. After a short stay at Clavin Klein, he joined Greg Lynn and became a member of Architecture at Large. In 2011, he joined the Baccarat committee, a seven-designer society tasked with imagining the brand’s future. He’s been assigned to design the flagship boutique of Baccarat on Madison Avenue, in NYC, set to open in May, 2013, a luxury 260-sq m space combining vintage and modern style.
