castle with terrace for sale Banon, France

Just a few minutes from the iconic village of Gordes, where time seems to stand still and natural beauty stretches as far as the eye can see, stands a majestic 18th-century château. Nestled in a commanding position, it watches over the surrounding valley like a silent sentinel. This exceptional property covers a plot of nearly one hectare, adorned with magnificent trees and more than twenty olive trees. The château, surrounded by a wooded garden where local species and enchanting scents intermingle, embodies the perfect harmony between heritage and nature. Outside, Provençal charm unfolds in a green setting, offering a preserved atmosphere and a rare quality of life. The château covers a total of 800 m², of which 200 m² have been carefully renovated, combining old-world charm with contemporary comfort.

At the time of the first crusade, the square sentry tower and the watchtower of this property were the gates to the town that they defended. Today this renovated château marks the western entrance to this town in Haute Provence. Over the years, it has become a character residence, offering the charms of its landscaped grounds and indoor swimming pool. Retaining scope for further development, the property has three levels that can be divided into two separate apartments or joined to form a single residence of more than 600 sq.m sitting on over 8,000 sq.m of private grounds. Authenticity steeped in history, just a short walk from the heart of the town. A must see!
