The decision to place that space, due to the energy that the place transmits to it, where you have the feeling of being in another dimension, as if you had gone back 200 years in time, perhaps because of the high walls that protect the interior from the real world.They decided to take a risk and buy the abandoned palace with the old decrepit distillery that, they came to discover, had been one of the main in the northern part of the island, where the community produced liqueurs and brandy.In January 2020, reconstruction works began, which focused mainly on interiors, insulation, coating and organization and reforestation of outdoor spaces. The original façade was fully maintained. The idea was to make a small charming hotel, taking a vibrant building with history and improving it to an extreme level of comfort, where you could enjoy your ancestry in a pleasant way, where the management could recover a habit with 40 years, from the early days when you started coming to Pico and receiving groups of friends: to be able to welcome those who arrive with time, proximity and comfort, and to show the world the best of the Azores, a land that the management discovered and that today is also a little bit of its own.A holiday home built in a former distillery, on private property.
